My cat is 25 years old, short-haired, and a matted mess. Yes, I take some of the blame on this for not keeping up with brushing her. The last several months of my life have been a hellish landscape of hospitals and recoveries.
I knew going into this that this clipper is a far cry from the ones I used to use when I was a professional groomer (for 20 years). But, I sold off my clippers and tools years ago when I left the trade. A solid, professional clipper would have made short work of this mess, but they are also very loud. Being that my cat is 25, I wanted to make the experience the least stressful as possible.
The clipper is very quiet. But it is also not the most powerful. It will take time to do this and you have to move slow. This clipper won’t zip through hard mats like a $300 Wahl or Oster. You need to take your time and be careful not to nick the skin. I worked on her for about 10 minutes, getting the back and chest. She took it very well, as if she was being brushed, but when she started getting antsy and the claws were coming out for a warning, I backed off and let her go, as always happened when I brushed her. I still have to do her belly, but that’ll be tomorrow. I noticed the charge going down near the end of the 10 minutes, too (the sound changing). So I had to charge it up anyway for the next round.
I think this is a decent clipper for anyone who hasn’t shaved a cat before. It’s not as aggressive as a pro clipper and I feel it is a safer alternative. It’s easy to slip with a turbo powered clipper and cut skin (I was once an apprentice, we all make mistakes), especially around the flaps behind the front legs and on front of the back. You have more control, moving slowly with this one. The quietness may help with cats who would spook with a loud buzzer.

I would recommend these clippers to anyone with a long haired pet that needs grooming. I have a long haired cat that would get matted at times and his back side wouldn’t get properly cleaned. The other clippers I had purchased would take me hours to groom him and would need breaks in between because of them getting hot. I had him shaved within 20mins it was insane I love these clippers!! They aren’t loud they shave smoothly are small and easy to handle. Battery life was amazing! Comes with all kinds of accessories to help the grooming process. Well worth the money!! Great value!

I am soooo happy to have found this tool! I was quoted $150 to get a lion cut for my longhaired fur baby. Instead, I did it myself with this handy and efficient pet shaver. While not exactly a pro grooming job, it has saved me money, and my cat the agony of a heavy fur coat during this hot summer we have been having! He looks like a little teddy bear with his shorter fur! Super cute! This is so easy to use once I discovered that I didn’t need the guard on it. Highly recommended.

Omg! I am so pleasantly surprised with this product! For the price it is awesome and actually was able to get out the horribly hard, thick mats on my long-haired ragdoll cat. My poor senior kitty stopped grooming himself and very quickly he developed huge, thick mats that I couldn’t brush or cut through with scissors. I didn’t know what to do and I have no pet grooming experience. So I decided to try shaving him and I didn’t want to spend a lot on something I wasn’t sure would work. But let me tell you that this was really easy to use, it got through all the mats, I never knicked my cat’s skin and it didn’t scare him. It was so quiet and comfortable for him that he actually purred the whole time. I got the whole job done on one charge! So happy with this purchase for the price!

This is so low vibration, with a heavy duty plastic blade, so it’s safe if he wriggles around and takes out the mats so gently he doesn’t freak out the minute he sees it. We love it. No extra parts.
