I enjoyed REALLY enjoyed this book. I thought… well ill muscle through this for great insight on everything grass. But it ended up being one of my favorite reads in the past year. You can tell it’s a great dude writing this book and its just authentic not counting the great information of years of expertise.

A lot of good info, some more for the pro than homeowner. If making patterns with the mower is your thing, you’ll love it.
I was hoping for more in-depth info on why I would want to select a particular fertilizer or other chemical over others for various situations.

I want to thank the author for a wonderful book on a novice learning about lawns. I love this book. If you are wanting to learn the basics of grass seeding, equipment, lawn temps, types of grass for your zone. Soil sampling and so much more. This book is a go to for you!

I recently purchased this book when I was diving head first into becoming the master groundskeeper of my new lawn. To say this is a must own is an understatement. Everything I’ve encountered or had a question about has had an answer in this book – including overseeding. My only ‘gotcha’ is that it doesn’t specifically mention spotted spurge in the weeds section – but this is fine – the rest of the knowledge imparted will help me crowd out the spurge and overcome perennial weed growth with a thick, strong turf.
The book is also really interesting for folks who like a little ‘behind the scenes’ knowledge. Great insights from the authors peers and friends throughout.
Worth every penny and then some!
