This book is amazing. I was looking for a quick first aid guide for our kit (this is not a quick guide) and came across this.
I originally bought it to put with my kids pretend play doctor and first aid things. They loved ‘doing research’ to figure out the ailments of their stuffed animals and myself. I have a lot going on apparently 😂.
It now sits on our homeschool bookshelf and is regularly referenced for fun.
The only caveat is that the print is a little small. Not at all a problem for me, however I know just looking at this that my grandma would not be able to read anything other than the bolder titles for sections. If a larger print version of this existed I would have purchased it instead for that reason, but the print isn’t bad enough for us to dock a star.

Works great to have if needed

This is a concise, practical manual, and a handy reference to supplement class room or hands-on training. The step-by-step instructions are clear, and there’s a bit of background on each topic.
Some of the complaints and poor reviews about many requiring calling 911 or an emergency number is a misunderstanding of the reviewer. The book does not purport to make you a doctor or an emergency care specialist. It’s first aid to address an emergency or minor injury/ailment until qualified medical or emergency care can take over. So set your expectations accordingly.

Strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in basic first aid. Very informative and knowledgeable for the subject material and i thin everyone should have this as it takes you through not only serious injuries but also very practical and inevitable situations

I was very happy with the graphics, illustrating different techniques, etc. It’s better than I expected it to be. It covers a good range of basic information and will be pretty handy as a resource should we, for some reason, find ourselves without electricity or phone service. Great for a home library

After reading the Amazon reviews and comparing this book to others, I decided to buy this one and glad I did. It doesn’t just describe first aid procedures like other books do. I also goes into detailed descriptions of the various functions of the human body and why they are necessary for life. I have found that other first aid books and classes focus on what to do (or not do) but don’t really describe the “why” in sufficient detail. This one does. It gives you a better understanding of what is happening “under the hood” which is more intuitive and easier to remember.
It has beautiful colored diagrams and photographs that make the descriptions very clear. I read it cover to cover and keep it handy next to our first aid kit. I feel much more prepared to deal with an emergency after reading this book and highly recommend it.

I got a couple of these for my teenage boys that always find a way to injury themselves. Put in their first aid bags I made them. Not sure how much they will look at it but I found it easy to follow and informative. I looked at several different first aid books and found this one to be the best
