This was surprisingly a great product! The price is amazing for the quality of the machine! I put it to the test and juiced a whole pineapple (the skin and all) also I did an entire ginger root, no peeling what so ever! usually the cheaper juicers/blender blades will get stuck because the peelings are too thick. This is a really easy-to-use, compact juicer that doesn’t take a lot of room on your countertop. I do wish that the juicer container held a bit more but it’s easy to add in more ingredients once it has made some of the juice. The one thing you have to watch for is that the lid of the juicer must be open before you lock or unlock it in position.
The juicer comes with a collection cup for the juice, a collection cup for the slag, a brush to clean out any bits that are caught inside, a helpful quick tips sheet, and a detailed instruction book. The quick tips and instruction book were well written with diagrams and actually helpful, unlike some I’ve read.
The top part of the juicer came already assembled which made it so much easier. You do have to make sure that when you are fitting the top part onto the base that the lid is open which allows you to slide it over from an unlocked position to a locked position. It won’t move over properly if the lid is not open and that’s a really key part of the instructions. They mention it on the quick tips, the instruction booklet, and even on the sticker on the outside which is very helpful.
Each of the pieces fit together really easily and well, and it is also very easy to take them apart which helps a lot when it comes to cleaning; I found that there was some slag stuck inside the slag part of the top of the container after juicing, so I had to take apart each piece and run it under water to clean it out, but it was simple and fast to rinse out and clean.
Thankfully there is an off position on the juicer as well as an on and a reverse with the knob, so you can pause or wait until you’re ready to juice.
They say to layer in the lighter and softer ingredients first on the bottom and then the harder ingredients on top, so I put my spinach on the bottom, then my apple, and then my ginger and it worked well. I did have to tamp it down with the included tamper in order to get it to work, but then it worked beautifully and I got a lot of bright green yummy tasting juice.
I didn’t realize the quantity you need of the ingredients to make a full glass of juice! I used handfuls and handfuls of spinach, an entire Granny Smith apple, and an inch of ginger, and I only got about a quarter of a glass full. I would have needed to add a lot more spinach and other ingredients to get a full glass but I am new to juicing; I’ve never juiced before.
This juicer allows you to make yummy fresh juice right at home. I would only change a few small things – to have the container that holds the ingredients be bigger so you can fit more in at once and to have the pieces be glass and metal so they are even healthier and also stronger, but it seems well built and strong and it is very easy to use. And with the smaller container it doesn’t take up much counter space.
This is an easy-to-use juicer, though you do have to add ingredients a few times if you want an entire glass of juice which you can easily do while it is juicing. And you must make sure to keep the lid open when you are turning the juicer to lock or unlock it, otherwise it won’t lock. With that awareness this is a good, solid, easy to use and easy to clean juicer.
