Interestingly, the shredder was cheaper with the sharpening paper bundled with it so I bought it this way. I’ve never used sharpening paper but I did have an older shredder I tested it on. It was easily shredded but I don’t know how to tell if it DID anything. One can always hope. The shredder itself seems to work well and managed to eat through my pile of papers without issue. I like the cross-cut function but didn’t realize that cross-cuts come in different sizes; this one cuts in sections that are about twice what I have experienced with other shredders. Still, it’s much better than strips so I am satisfied.

This is a very good machine. It even shreds credit cards easily. It doesn’t overheat quickly. FYI: when the machine gets too hot it will automatically shut off until it cools down.
