I love this hub! It makes my home office setup function like a dream by enabling me to setup with and switch between my personal and work MacBooks through a single cable. I drive two 4K monitors, and to switch laptops, I simply unplug the USB-C from one and into the other. Dead simple. And there are plenty of ports to expand/charge other items. I am so pleased with the device, and I recommend it.

I’ve been using this for the past 3 days, and I have to say it’s way better than my previous 10-port USB-C hub, which had stopped working. I like the design of this new hub, where the HDMI, PD, and Ethernet ports are all in the same area and located at the back. In comparison, my previous hub had its ports scattered all over the place. This hub only gets lightly warm, whereas my previous one used to get super hot, which I think might have contributed to its failure. I appreciate the fact that it has a power light to indicate when it’s on. It’s also more compact, which I like. I’ve had no issues with my other Anker devices, and so far I’m really liking this hub.

Save your time and stress, stay away.
First unit should have been caught in QC – got too hot to touch within seconds, obviously defective and a fire danger.
Amazon sent out a replacement unit that was flakey from the start and then failed completely within several months; as this was outside the Amazon return period I contacted Anker support. Anker support is a bunch of chatgpt robots that are incapable of understanding what the issue is because they’re just chatbots programmed to gaslight you until you go away so that they don’t have to pay for customer service agents to actually fix customer problems.

This could be one of those reviews where I tell you how well this works for work Zoom Meetings and the Monthly TPS Excel reports. But my primary concern was the Steam Deck my secondary concern was being able to see more work. Luckily it worked for both.
The Steam Deck is capable of pushing to both 1440p monitors without any issues. I don’t have many AAA games, but if it helps: Hogwarts Legacy ran at full speed on auto detect (medium) graphics. No ghosting, no tearing, no lag. I tried No Man Sky for something with very high particle and blooming. Still ran like a champ. Mafia Definitive Edition runs like Estes Kefauver at a meeting of Murder Incorporated. If it runs on the Steam Deck this hub can push it… Remember my monitors are only QHD 1440p.
One laptop worked amazingly. 1440p Zoom Calls, Excel Spreadsheets as far as the eyes could see. BOTH EMAIL AND CHAT OPEN ON THE SAME SCREEN!

The other laptop didn’t support video over USB-C nor Power Delivery. The USB hub worked very well as a USB hub though.
The USB ports are all fast and reliable. My USB 3.x devices have varying speeds. I don’t think any device measured the full through put, but given the equipment I have to work with (it could be the equipments fault) I am happy with a 4.8 out of 5.
Using the power delivery port on this hub will allow you to charge attached devices. Steam Deck charges, Laptops with USB-C Power Delivery charge. Laptops without power delivery will not charge.
The ports with pictures of keyboards, please plug your USB Keyboard and Mouse in these ports. These ports are USB 2.0. They will run slow if any other devices are plugged into them.
If your device does not support Thunderbolt, Alt HDMI, or Displayport over USB-C, You will not be able to use the video ports.

This is a great Hub to use, however I tried using a regular usb-c cable as an extension, but it didn’t work. I did find out you need a USB 4 cable in order for the hub to work, in particular one with 40 GBPS/240 watt. Keep this in mind if you need a longer cable or lose the original cable that came with the original hub.

In about a year of use I can say that it is a very functionable hub. All of the ports work but now recently I have had some issues in connectivity. Now the USBs, HDMI, are all fine but recently the ethernet is inconsistent as well as the pass through USB-C to charge the laptop. Those 2 ports for me are starting to not always connect but simply unplugging and replugging is a temporary fix and sometimes I just go to the original charger to charge the laptop or plug ethernet directly to the laptop. If the ports or the hub all fail then that will change the review down the line but everything else works.

For my home office set up, it is great. I have 2 external monitors that use HDMI, a wireless mouse keyboard combo, external camera for video calls. I have 2 different brands of laptops that use this hub (Asus/Dell I know they are the same company). I even have it hardwired into my Router/Modem. I use on Video calls from Google, Teams, and Zoom. But guess what, I can’t use the Zoom phone. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, but here we are. It was working for a couple of months, but no longer. The weird thing is that if you restart the computer, the phone works for a bit. So if you don’t need to use Zoom Phone for your office/personal phone, this is a perfect device.
