This breathalyzer works right on par with a police issued one, except it’s much more compact and convenient to carry around. Product exactly as described and very happy with my purchase.

I bought this because I unfortunately got in some trouble for drinking too much and driving. Have an interlock system in my car and I use this to check where I am before I try on the “official” version. It works great and is very accurate at first, but after awhile the readings go off. They’re basically good for a few months before they screw up. I don’t want to send it away to get “calibrated” since it’s a fairly cheap device. It’s actually proved invaluable to me at its best, but a pain in the butt at its worst. It told me today that I had a .15 for one beer that I finished half an hour ago, but my car started just fine.

First one was DOA, which happens so I’m not terribly upset about that. Customer service was actually really easy and helpful, so I had to give an extra star over minimum for that.
However, when I got my replacement it just appears to be junk. The readings are completely inaccurate – after many drinks it would tell my BAC was 0.04% and just kept saying the same thing over and over again. I would not recommend wasting your money on this…

We bought this just for fun, not for any serious use. Having never used a breathalyzer before, I am not sure how accurate it is, but it seems accurate enough for the purpose it was intended for. There may be more accurate breathalyzers out there, but this one was good for us, for the small size, and the easy use!
You just need to turn it on, wait a little, and blow through it until the beeping stops, and it shows the results almost immediately. So far, so good!

t anyone driving off until I knew they were legal. Didn’t find out until after letting 3 people leave that it read .06 on me after 8 drinks. Took a shot and tried again 5 min later and blew .03 I realized I had probably let drunk people leave my house thinking they were good, when in reality the probably weren’t. Lucky for 0 incidences but scary. Worthless product as far as I am concerned! Not to mention I ordered replacement mouth pieces that didnt fit. The company sent them together anyway. If packaged separately i would understand but came in the same package. Seems like they would have the courtesy to realize they didnt match and either send the correct ones or contact me. BACtrack get it together!!!

Lifesaver! This could literally save someone’s life (not to mention their legal status). I got the thing and first I was surprised at how tiny and lightweight it was. I could have lived without the blister pack, but that’s a minor quibble. The instructions were clear and simple. Push the button, wait while it counts down, when it beeps, blow.
As a test, I repeated another reviewer’s test. First I blew three times into it (the manual recommends you do two ‘fake’ blows at first because it may have dust or contaminants on the sensor) — 0.00 each time. Which is absolutely correct, since I am stone cold sober and haven’t had a drink for a long time.
Then I grabbed some Scope Classic (15% ABV… 30 proof!) and gargled for about thirty seconds and spit. Now minty fresh, I blew again. 0.26! Holy CRAP! That’s more than three times the legal limit! So it clearly wasn’t broken and stuck on “0”.
Next, I gargled some water and spit — 0.19. Rinse, repeat a few seconds later — 0.10. Wait a few minutes, eat a bite or two, drink some Diet Coke (gargling a bit — strong, acidic carbonation should clear out the remaining alcohol) — sure enough, back to 0.00. A few more repeats, still 0.00.
I don’t know if it’s dead on accurate; it might read 0.10 for a cop’s 0.08, or vice versa, so I would still stick to common sense rules like: if you drink, don’t drive. But I will say that if you’re stuck in a situation where you’re not sure if it’s safe and you have this little devil, it could just save your life.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!! I have two. The first one worked fine. I wanted to buy one for a friend for Christmas. Foolishly, I bought a second one for myself. Only ONE OF THE THREE WORKS. Pretty damn lame. Especially when your life depends on it. Inaccurate. We calibrated one against the other. Wide difference in BAC readings! HUGE difference. Changed batteries multiple times. No difference whatsoever. The third one,? Worked for a week then crapped out, never to work again. Complete WASTE of money!
