I was looking for a clean ingredient product that would give me a natural looking tan. I was very happy with my first use of Bahama Tan. It was easy to apply, has a light coconut scent and the end result was great. Nice color with no streaks. A tanning mitt was included with my purchase which I really appreciated. I will definitely buy it again. I’m so happy to have found it!

Because I couldn’t find any reviews for olive skinned or darker people trying to use self tanning products I felt it was important to write this. Oh, I also got the #2 version. Medium dark.
1: of the three products I tried to achieve a natural looking tan, this product came the closest in making that happen. It smells pretty gross. And takes a minimum of 8 hours to develop. I had to wait 15 minutes for it to dry, but it was still “tacky” after 30 min. I gave up and put clothes on anyways and went to bed. I did notice a little brown on my sheet in the morning. But no worse than something my dog would leave with muddy paws. The color is a golden brown, not quite as dark as I’d like so I added the ST TROPEZ classic mouse to some areas to darken up the color. The St Torpez product doesn’t look right at all on my skin, but the two mixed makes me look like I sat for a few hours without sunscreen, so nice and tan. Happy with the color
3: application- fairly easy to apply with an applicator or gloves, definitely a little goes a long way, type thing. I followed other reviewers advice and used the wet applicator (at the end) to do the tops of my feet, backs of my hands, elbows, and knees. I had no streaking or spots. Defitiely exfoliated and shaved prior to application (10 hrs before). I mixed the tanner with my night moisturizer for my face, that came out the best.
Overall very happy with this product when used with the St Tropez. The smell is bearable for overnight. Just take a shower in the morning. Watch out for it rubbing off on your bedding.

Let me start by saying, I have tried every single self-tanning product I could get my hands on, over the course of over ten years. I’ve tried the one’s from the drug-store. I’ve tried the one’s from the Department store. I’ve ordered one’s online from facebook pop-ups. And I’ve tried the whole section’s at Ulta and Sephora. I keep coming back to BAHAMA TAN, for a multitude of reasons. Let me name a few of them and their pro’s and con’s. My longtime favorite was always: St. Tropez Classic Bronzing Mousse. I have used this for years on and off. The smell isn’t too smelly and the color goes on nice, looks nice and fades evenly. St. Tropez is a great sunless tanner, but for me, only the mousse option. The water spray and the oil, not so good. I’ve also used: Il Makiage Mousse. This is a facebook, trendy sunless tanner product line. The smell was way too much and the color and fading were just ok. Not worth the hype. Another line is the: Loving Tan Bronzing Mousse. This is alright. I will say that I enjoy the smell the most of any sunless tanner as it smells like a yummy cupcake. No smelly headache later while it’s developing. The downside to Loving Tan is that the color comes out too dark for my liking and the fading is really bad. I stay moisturized, and yet it still faded in patches. Just not good. Another brand is: Vita Liberata Bronzing Mousse. Like the other’s, just okay. I will say, the smell of this one is very strong. Headache strong. Offensive, strong. For that reason alone, it almost doesn’t matter how good a color looks later. This was just to name of few of my product’s from this year. I keep coming back to: Bahama Tan Lotion. The smell is beachy. The color is perfect. Not fake, not orange, not purple or blue. Just tan. And the price is perfect. I am hyper sensitive to smells and I get headaches easily. With that said, I have never found a sunless tanner that has ZERO scent. Even if it says ‘fragrance free’, that just means they aren’t putting any of their own extra fragrances in it. Once it hits the body and your chemicals interact with it, there will always be a scent, no matter what. Long story short, I highly recommend Bahama Tan. it’s been wonderful for me.

I LOVE this… I was so nervous to try a new self tanner since it’s usually a disaster. I’ve been using GlowPro 10% Mousse- which if you have not used it yet it is literally the top of the line lotion. Which, of course, means it’s speedy. After reading the reviews and feeling like I have a solid understanding of how to do the perfect at home tan I decided to purchase this lotion. My bar was super high- and this did not disappoint!
Compared to GlowPro, it was about the same color (albeit not as rich and deep) and exactly the same to apply. I always shave the day before, then shower and exfoliate the day of. I put lotion on after my shower and a few hours later put on the tan using a microfiber mitt. It went on smooth, I could easily see where it was and was not, and it dried within minutes. I have not had ANY issues with it running or rubbing onto clothes/sheets, although I do wear loose, black clothing the first day of a tan.
Overall, the smell is better than GlowPro- really island-y then fades to normal icky spray tan smell- and so is the price for essentially the same product. That right there is enough to make me switch to this permanently.
The CONS– it doesn’t seem to last quite as long, and I could do two applications (put on, wait 8 hours, shower, do it all over again) to reach the same darkness (I’m really fair skinned). I definitely will go through the same amount of product much much quicker than GlowPro. Still, it ends up being cheaper and buying things on Amazon is always nice and easy.
If you’re unsure of home tanning lotions, don’t go for the super cheap stuff, go with this and GET THE MITTS for face and body. If your face picks up color really quickly like mine does, either wash your face before the 8 hours is up, or mix this lotion with a plain face lotion 50/50 for a nice, smooth application that turns out the same shade as your body.
