Cymbal sounds are subjective, and I listened to the recorded sounds of various brands of low volume cymbals from other reviewers before choosing these Batking low volume cymbals (silver). The Batking low volume cymbals sound great. The price for a whole set of 20”, 18”, 16”, and 14” cymbals is satisfactory too. I particularly like the sound of the 18 inch crash and 14 inch high hat. The high hat produces a great “chick” sound.
I would prefer the 20” ride cymbal to have a deeper pitch, but I suspect the limits are likely due to the materials, holes, and size. Lower frequency sounds penetrate walls easier, so higher frequencies are preferable for neighbors anyways. My neighbors could not hear these cymbals through the wall.
Because I share walls with neighbors, I needed a low volume drums + cymbals solution. I also tried the Evans Soundoff mute kit pads for my drums and cymbals. Evans Soundoff is a good product, especially for drummers who need to quickly switch between low volume and bare drum heads. My drums, however, will be at low volume full time, so fastened Evans db One mesh heads with the Batking low volume cymbals better served my needs and my neighbor’s wishes when comparing the stick bounce, tone, and wall penetration.
No comment for durability yet because they are new. Edges are smooth.

So long as you are 100% aware that you are buying low volume practice cymbals and that they will be worthless for gigging and/or recording, you won’t be disappointed. The sound is clean and brilliant and they respond well to a wide variety of striking styles. I have to suspect that any negative reviews are the result of unrealistic expectations. For the price, you might not be able to find a better set of low volume cymbals.

I am pleasant surprised with the sound and quality. Perfect for a small venue or home practice.

You can buy these or be a chump and pay 3 times as much for a high end name l. These sound great, work great, and way more durable than I thought they would be. Great value.

If you’re looking to reduce the overall volume of your band practice these symbols are for you. Share them with some lightning rod sticks and the volume is perfect for my band project.
Amazon Customer –
If you’re looking for something to keep the noise down when practicing in your basement, these will do good. They easily cut the volume in half compared to my regular cymbals. The two crashes sound the best out of the pack. The ride is basically a big crash and doesn’t have much of a bell but still sounds good for what it is. The hats are all right. There is no specific top or bottom hat, from what I could tell they’re the same cymbal. It has a sizzle when open and sounds alright when closed. You can get a good chick out of it but its probably my least favorite out of the pack. Unsure of durability as Ive only had them for a few days but they seem to be holding up well to the 5bs I use. Over all I’m very happy with the sound and quality of this pack for the price I paid for it.

I’ve tried the Sabian low volume cymbals and only liked the crashes and rides. These sound similar for a lot less, but I like the sound of the hi hats more, especially with hot rods. Fine with sticks too, but hot rods find a sweet spot. It is still tinny, don’t think they sound fantastic. But for low volume cymbals made of steel, these sound great. The sizzle of the hats is surprisingly good.
Volume is best for garage or practice room. I don’t advise these for an apartment. That said. I was playing with remo silentstroke heads and could finally hear the heads without being drowned out by my regular cymbals.
Good purchase all in all. Better sounding than most beginner cymbals even.

I think these cymbals are great for the price. I have the same size configuration with my Paiste 2002s. Overall the volume is quite low and they have a decent sound. I’m not looking for high end sound; my 2002s provide that for me but with ear shattering volume. They probably won’t stand up to heavy bashing but most cymbals won’t from inexperienced drummers. Apart from Amazon delivered them to the wrong house, I’m completely satisfied.
