I recently upgraded to wireless around the home after purchasing a laptop, I bought a Belkin wireless router which I have not had any problems with and I needed a wireless adapter for my desktop. Belkin have not disappointed me with this well priced adapter. It is easy to use, the drivers come on the disk provided, and I have not had any problems with it since I bought it, which was some time ago now.
It allows me to download at a good speed and runs my online game with no lag, even when there is a lot going on on screen.
If you are after another adapter go for this, it is good value, easy to use and is very discreet for a desktop as you can plug it into a rear USB port. My only bugbear with it is that is white, I woulda liked a black one, hehe

This is the second one of these guys I picked up. The other was by an even more generic brand than Belkin.
Uses the Realtek chipset, so the parts are made by a good name in ICs.
I purchase a ton of these usb wireless sticks to grab updates on machines when there are no lan-patches available, so you can trust me when i say it works fine for the price. People who are having problems with these adapters are really having problems with their networks.
Also, these only work on 32 bit versions of windows as far as I know. Although, I would not be surprised if you could find a Realtek driver that fixes that issue.

I do repairs on computers as a hobby. I purchased this item, to save having superfluous cables when using the internet. I already have a wireless broadband router installed.
Having read the previous reviews, it is obvious that some people did have problems installing this device.
I took their advice and DID NOT follow the manufacturers instructions. I DID NOT install the software before plugging in the adaptor. I DID use the desktop extension lead supplied. It DOES make a difference. (I later tried it without the extension lead)
(The PC I was running was using the new Windows Vista operating system)
The computer immediately picked up the new hardware and asked to connect to the internet to find the necessary drivers. I declined that and merely used the browse facility to browse to the Drivers file on the CD that came with the adaptor. It installed and works fine.
I found: That the software on the CD is unnecessary – The driver files are tiny – the software is huge. See earlier reviews for details of problems with the software. I also found that the reception was better USING the desktop extension lead. And yes, the XP drivers DO work with Vista and XP. I hope this helps someone else.

I don’t know what I would have done without it. I’m a teacher, my husband is in law enforcement. He’s a gamer and I enjoy shopping online as a hobby.We have our entire household wireless. We have 2 laptops wireless, 1 desktop computer,2 differnt phone lines, and 3 game systems. And we still have really fast internet service. Since I shop alot I’m always looking for the best for my buck you might say so when I saw this I checked it out read some other reviews and thought I would give it a try. The belkin wireless G usb adapter arrived to my home in no time and I hooked it up in 2min. It was a easy to set up. Thanks for making a product that was awesome and simple to use.

I am puzzled by a lot of the reviews of this product. I have had one for some time and it works just fine. It is certainly a bit fiddly to set up a network (you have to get some settings from your ISP and I expect some are not very forthcoming). And you can hide the network and lock it with WEP encryption and a password – again a bit fiddly but I am not a genius and have managed OK. Once the network is set up it works fine as far as I am concerned, it never drops out at all and broadband works really well on a remote computer.

I bought two of these wireless adapters during the Thanksgiving sale and had nothing but problems with them.
I have been working as a Systems Administrator for many years, and configure LAN/WAN networks all the time, but I met my match when trying to get these adapters to work.
I installed one on a Windows XP Pro desktop computer with all the latest services packs and security updates, and the other was installed on a Windows XP Home laptop. It took me 6 hours to get the device to work on each computer, which I thought were running stably after going to Belkin’s website and downloading the latest drivers to try and correct problem with windows losing the devices but I was wrong. For some unknown reason even though I was only seven feet away in the same room, I would lose my wireless connection from the desktop and or the laptop. Windows would also intermittently not be able to find the device on both desktop and laptop and required me to restart the computers to find the device again.
All wireless devices seem to have their glitches do to software, hardware, or interference from the environment, but this is the worst I have ever worked with!

I received two of above on 22/6/07, and am very satisfied. One installed on Medion Laptop via a BT Voyager 2500 over BT Internet all installed as instructions worked immediately, also picks up neighbors networks in Hertfordshire. I am trying to install second on a Fujitsu desktop which had Windows 98, upgraded to Windows ME as yet no joy, but am sure it will eventually. My main PC Medion MD8083 has built in LAN, and shows all my neighbors networks some six to eight at times and not all secured!
All so notice on Amazon under a slightly different description this item is £33. So I recommend purchase.

Belkin is simply one of the best wireless product manufacturers out there. I have used many of their product and they proofed to be very reliable and the customer service are absolutely fantastic. I installed the wireless modem in the middle east and had difficulties so contact them by email and they called me there and had the problem fixed what maker would call you especially if they say it is not compatible with that country but they still contact me and helped me all the way until this dapter worked with they modem. Great service and great products. This was a few years back and the devices are still up and running like a clock.
