Always wanted a bullpup air rifle so decided on this one as it was offered for a great price. Quality build, very comfortable to hold and shoot, outstanding accuracy, very good shot count, more than enough power for small game hunting, outstanding warranty and customer support (parts, etc), quiet enough to be “back yard friendly” overall just a really nice PCP. I am very happy with this rifle and it has served me very well since I bought it.

First pcp of this type and I am very pleased with its overall function and build. The accuracy is dependent on ammo used but with 18 gr H&N pellets I was shooting quarter size groups at 25 yards. The action is smooth and the magazines worked flawlessly. Trigger is smooth and you can feel the preload easily upto the trigger wall. Scope mounting was easy just have to choose a mount that doesn’t interfere with the groves of the built in mount.
Eye relief is the only issue with the built in plastic adjustable cheek rest I couldn’t get proper eye position and ended up removing it and it functions fine and still comfortable to shoot.
Highly recommend this air rifle for sport, hunting or just recreational shooting but it is definitely heavy and can be a bear if carried for awhile. Very happy with my purchase.

This is a good shooting, attractive, accurate pcp air rifle. It is not cheap but is reasonably priced. The accessories such as pumps, air compressor and tanks will cost more than the gun unless you only get a hand pump but be ready to pump a lot! I have a bicycle style and used it for a few minutes and went on line and ordered a compressor and tank! This makes it a joy to shoot and must be considered when going with pcp air guns. My son got the Marauder and he loves his as well.

I had to come in and change my review. Initially I was afraid I had received a bum gun as it came with 0 air and when I tried to fill it all the air leaked right out of the barrel. After doing some research, it turns out that as of late Crosman can no longer ship rifles out with any air in the tank. Because of this the valve was not seated. Once I knew this I took my Scuba tank and forced a rush of air in there, with THE GUN COCKED (VERY IMPORTANT TO COCK IT). Now it is holding air indefinitely and I absolutely love this gun. It is extremely accurate, the stock is beautiful, it is very quiet but still packing a nice strong shot. I mounted a Hawke Frontier on it and the combo is awesome. The power adjuster seems to work well to although i havent had a chance to check it on the crony. Having owned many bullpups, this one is on par with my Wildcats. The Wildcat did have a bit nicer stock, but they both shoot very well and given the choice I would save the 4 to 500 bucks and buy the Akela first.

Very well done, beautiful wood, fit and finish. Price is very good compared to prices of some of the high end makers. Accuracy is superb. reliability excellent. Holds air great. (Got comments down below regarding leak fixes for those in need). Put a UTG Bugcatcher scope on and your ready to drive tacks (once you sight in the the scope). Only complaint is that they need to produce a composite stock version and hurry up with .30 and.35 cal version. I will definitely buy a larger caliber when they become available. Hopefully they will have stock options like black composite and camo composite to even if it raises the cost a bit.
I read one review where the customer has one that is not holding air. I ordered a Woodstalker and had to remove the gauge, apply new teflon tape and tighten the gauge. It still leaked a little so I repeated this and torqued down on the gauge. It took a couple of tries, but the Woodstalker is holding air just fine now. Ordered a Kratos and it holds at 2600 instead of 3000. Got to remove the gauge and do the same to it. Read several complaints on this issue. There are DIY videos on YouTube. You can fix this yourself if you are so inclined. My Akela has never leaked. All the same that’s 2 out of 3 that I bought that did leak.

This is my first PCP air rifle. The fit and finish is excellent. It looks great and feels great. The bullpup design with the weight of the gun closer to your body makes it easy to shoulder and fire. I can headshot a squirrel at 50 yards. As long as you pick a pellet and stay with it you will get consistent groups. The trigger is excellent. I mean it is really light and very consistent. All my neighbors want to shoot it. Within a couple shots they are hitting a 1″ spinning target I have at 50 yards. Really fun. Really accurate.
Here is the problem. It leaks. It arrived with exactly 3,000 psi. So it had no problem holding air. But within a week it drops air pressure and I mean quickly. I pumped it up to 3,000 and it dropped to 2,100 within about 4 hours. So that means it is never going to be ready to go when needed. That makes is almost useless for my purposes. If I see a squirrel chewing on my house, or eating my tomatoes I am never ready to do anything about it. HOLD ON, let me pump this thing up for 5 minutes….. It is incredibly frustrating.
Maybe I just got a leaker. I really don’t know. I had a Benjamin when I was a kid and it was the best airgun I ever had.
