Worked great until it didn’t. We’ve had this gate less than 2 months when the button to the latch broke off. This is very frustrating considering how much we needed the gate. We used it at the bottom of our oddly shaped staircase to prevent our toddler from climbing the stairs.
Update: company sent a replacement for the broken button which was good. Unfortunately this replacement broke within 2 months like the original. This product is definitely not worth the money.

The product doesn’t look like it is going to get a lot of wear. Some of the material is cheaply made

I bought this Bonnlo Baby Gate after seeing a review/photo of someone who has a similar awkward layout to their home as I do. I have a raised ranch, and at the top of the stairs there is this big dangerous area around the top of the stairs where there is a metal railing and nowhere to easily attach a doorway gate (see photos). This worked very well for babyproofing this awkward area of my home!
The gate is pretty reasonably priced compared to others on the market, it easily and effectively covers my open entrance at the top of my stairs as well as the whole metal railing along the edge of the stairs (where there is a potentially dangerous drop), it is easy to customize, it is a sturdy metal material, it doesn’t move around easily, and it locks into place firmly. The door is easy to open for an adult, but my baby definitely isn’t able to figure it out. The door can be locked shut or swung open in either direction and there is an option to keep it open without the door swinging around.
I installed this myself, without any help from my husband so I would say installation is fairly simple. However, the instructions are in poorly translated English so that was a little bit annoying, but it was easy enough to figure out what to do based on the pictures and a little critical thinking. I ended up anchoring mine into a closet door frame (hard wood) and my entryway corner (metal stud) so it is SUPER stable. My baby pushes against it and it doesn’t move at all.
One modification that I did was placing thin, non-slip furniture pads on the whole base of the gate because I have hardwood floors that I would prefer not to damage! I’m not sure if this also helps hold the gate in place well, but I have no complaints.
If you are looking for a long baby gate for any awkward places in your home that you’d like to babyproof, I would recommend buying this. Just be aware that the installation process might require a little bit of problem solving because the instructions aren’t completely clear.
Hope this helps!

Installation was a little complicated, but once you get it, you’ll be a pro at operating this gate. It’s a little expensive, but worth it. We bought two and hooked them together to create an enclosed space around the couches. The gate part swings shut automatically, which is nice (you can push it back a little more to keep it propped open). But it doesn’t completely latch all the way, so you have to make sure it’s latched. It’s not the perfect gate. It’s aesthetically pleasing through. My husband didn’t want our living room to look like a daycare, and it doesn’t. It’s hooked into the wall at both ends and makes an L-shape. It stands fine that way. The baby pulls up on it and it’s sturdy enough.

UPDATE: reached out to the seller and they sent a new part to replace the broken latch!
Purchased this gate in January and have loved it. Opened it this morning and the button broke off to be able to open the gate. Having to keep a screwdriver by the gate to be able to open it. Pretty disappointing that it only lasted 6 months.

We use this sturdy and easy to install toddler gate for a wider space — we have extra wide stairs that go both up and down from our kitchen, and so we needed a gate that could span both sets of stairs safely, but easy enough to use since it’s a high traffic area. Looks much better than anticipated!
Our toddler (16 mo) cannot get out, nor her 3 yr old cousin. The 6 yr old can unlatch the gate herself. The little ones do love shaking the gate, and it’s stood fine so far.
This gate was easy enough to install, despite the instructions. There’s not much thdespite pretty sparse instructions. If I hadn’t installed a different gate at the other end of the staircase, I’m not sure i would have known what to do.
You do need two vertical points on each wall to secure the gate. The part that attaches to the wall is a fixed length, so you’ll want to check that the gate can properly attach (before drilling holes) if your wall slopes at all.
There was one damaged part, but I contacted the seller via Amazon and they immediately sent a replacement part!

Works amazing! My dog was going though handles on the door and this was a sturdy and easy to install gate! So happy!

I needed a fireplace gate for my 12 month old granddaughter. We had another brand for her 5 year old brother but got rid of it two years ago. This is a working wood fireplace but haven’t actually used it in years so really was buying it to keep her from getting hurt. It’s super heavy metal. I struggled getting it from my front steps delivery into the house. There were no instructions which surprised me. I just clicked the two sides together first, then clicked the door in between the two panels. Putting the mounting brackets on was even easier. We are buying metal mollies to put in the walls. The cheap plastic ones that come with the gate won’t withstand a toddler yanking on something this heavy. We got the black color and it blends in well. The five year old likes being able to put his small toys inside the gate so the baby can’t get at them. Gives him some personal space that he can play in without a toddler bothering him when he wants and he can open it with ease and play with his sister too. We have a very small living room and we got the five panel gate. It takes up a bit more room but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. It’s so strong and sturdy I know she will be safe. And, if we ever lose power in the winter and need to use the fireplace, it will keep both kids safe. Well worth the money!
