Have had over a year, used monthly, still working well. Nice to have a stand that can fold down small and be relatively lightweight but still have thicker legs and a solid plate for music to rest against. Not rickety and annoying like the super thin lightweight types are.

This stand was delivered within hours, is light/compact enough to easily carry around in its handy bag, takes only a minute or so to set up and take down, and is plenty sturdy enough to hold a full size iPad Pro.

Having trawled various reviews, I opted for this Cahaya Sheet Music Stand and I am not disappointed. The base and stand are very easy to assemble and have good adjustable heights. The note/music-holder at the top is a bit clunky to manoeuvre … but once the whole thing is assembled it looks really good, is solid and is definitely fit for purpose. A really nice piece of kit with a carrying case included – although the music-holder itself needs to be transported separately.
Disappointed –
I’ve only used this stand a couple times, but so far it is just what I was looking for. It’s sturdy, holds my big notebook full of sheet music. The little spring loaded wires keep pages from flipping around in the wind. And it folds up very compactly. It’s heavier than I would have liked… but because it’s on the heavier side (unlike my flimsy old one) it stands up in the breeze. The carrying bag is great. Fits nicely in my tote bag for all my extra music stuff when I go to jams. I give this stand 5 stars… until it disappoints, but I don’t think it will. Will recommend to my friends.

The desk and stand parts are mostly metal. The desk is fairly tall, but not extremely wide, but still can support a heavy folder. The carrying bag is solidly built. The tubes and legs are metal. The feet have plastic floor protectors on the ends. My only qualm is that the clutches at the ends of the tubes are plastic and can strip out if you overtighten the knobs, so be careful. It’s reasonably compact when disassembled. The desk even has angle detents to hold its tilt without overtightening. So far, it’s been a good stand.

I purchased this after seeing it being used by a music director. I always previously used the popular fold out stand . I decided to buy this and am really pleased with it. The stand is easy to carry and quick to assemble. It’s sturdy too and I’ll be using It for an outside performance soon and feel confident that it will not fall/ collapse easily. The stand easily holds a music A4 folder, a fan, phone/ tablet. My music light clips on really well. I also purchased the bag and can fit other items into the bag along with the music stand.

PROS: We bought this stand for our high school son to use for summer music camps. If you’ve used those wire, flimsy, portable stands before and hated them, then you will LOVE this stand.
We looked into buying the more “famous” name brand folding stand, but it was backordered 4-5 weeks. We took a risk on this unknown manufacturer and it paid off. It’s very easy to assemble. If you’ve had to assemble folding stands before, it will be second nature. If you’ve never folded stands before, it will take a try or two to “get” it. It’s definitely heavy and should stand up to the mountain breezes of summer camps. The stand also has music holders will are great! Additionally, if you play gigs while standing and you’re tall, you’ll be fine with this stand. My son is 6’2″ and the stand goes even higher than he needs it while standing.
CONS: Honestly, there aren’t really any cons. I guess the only thing would be that the holder for music is slightly more narrow than a traditional metal stand (see side by side pic of normal stand with portable stand), but this also makes it more portable. If you look at the photos, you’ll see that it’s still wide enough to hold an open book (using those handy page holders). The leg width at the bottom also doesn’t go as wide (keep in mind I do NOT have the legs fully extended in the pic). Still wide enough to be solid and not wiggle.
Great product. I would buy again if needed. This stand is well made, solid, and will stand the test of time (and the test of a teen!).
