I have a 2014 Kia and wanted to swap out the radio unit and install a GPS carplay system, after a few phone calls, learned that it’s very expensive. For the money, this GPS carplay unit exceeds my expectations! It connects automatically to the Carplay app on my phone, displaying the map view and destinations. It also displays music played from either a cloud account or local, like USB. The touch screen is plenty responsive. I didn’t hook up the backup camera because my car already has one, only just wanted the GPS display. The interface is great for getting messages, and calls too. I went on a 6 hour road trip shortly after installing this unit, and it worked flawlessly! Navigated through the streets of San Francisco perfectly. Keep in mind, be sure you have sufficient data on your cell phone to utilize Maps dependably
Initially I attached it to the dashboard with the screen holder, but it was a bit too intrusive to my vision (probably because I sit a bit low, and I’m short too). So I repurposed the adhesive by cutting it in half lengthwise, and attaching the screen directly above my radio/backup display, without the holder. The adhesive is very strong, and has been holding up perfectly. To the left of my GPS and music display screens, I have a strong magnet that my phone attaches to. It also conceals the wire coming down next to it that plugs into one of the power sources (cigarette lighter).
Overall I’m very happy with this GPS unit and highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their navigation display, and basically mirror their cellphone.
