This is a nice coffee maker! Like a lot of reviewers I’m the only coffee drinker in the house so five cup in the morning is usually enough. I like to grind my beans and pods get expensive so a small pot works best for me. The Capresso is a nice size and fits under the kitchen cabinets. Although the clock and timer work well I don’t use it. The water level step is an interesting design, I seldom make less than a full pot but once in a while I want one more cup and it’s hard to see the lower steps. I do keep it in a darker corner of my counter so the water level and clock are a little harder to read. I’ve been using it daily for about five months now with no complaints. I think the hot plate keeps coffee at the right temperature, doesn’t burn the coffee if you leave it on to long. A little more than I wanted to spend but the quality is there and the cheap ones are just that.
Well I guess I spoke to soon. Less than seven months and it died, stopped heating. The clock and timer work but I need coffee! I’m not afraid to take things apart, they all work the same way. I did not find any shorts or fried wires. What I did find was the water level step was getting kind of nasty and due for a good cleaning. I really liked this coffee maker so do I try another one or move on to something else? I’ll have a spare carafe and basket! I didn’t change my rating but yeah, I’m disappointed. Just more landfill.
Final update; I did get ahold of customer service after being on hold for over an hour. The problem is I have to ship it to Pennsylvania. UPS shipping calculator came up with about $16.80 for shipping. I get it, they can’t give a coffee maker to anyone willing to be on hold for a hour. I’ve had bad luck with these small coffee makers so I went cheap and bought a SHARDOR for $17.99 + tax. So far it is working just fine!

I owned this very same coffee machine for 6 years and it was starting to get tired. I felt it’s days were numbered so I started shopping around for a replacement. I considered other brands/coffee makers and after reading reviews I decided to stick with what I know and purchase the same coffee maker again. This
Capresso is perfect for me! I live alone and drink one very large cup of coffee each morning. The coffee is good and hot. I am looking forward to another 6+ years with my new coffee maker.

Muy buena cafetera, lo recomiendo ampliamente, ya que la requiero para pocas tazas.

15 years ago I needed a small five cup coffee pot. I bought a Sears Kenmore 5 cup pot and I have really loved it. The only problem I had with it was the pot would dribble when it poured and the spring loaded stopper on the main basket dripped occasionally on to the heater pad when the pot was removed, eventually causing rust. In January I noticed a leak and found the pot cracked around the bottom metal ring, so I was looking for another coffee pot without much success (everything is flimsy and cheap). Then I found this Capresso on Amazon and it appeared almost identical to the Kenmore pot so I ordered it and (eureka!) it was almost identical. It looks great and brews a great cup of coffee. The heater pad and brewing heater seem stronger and, what do you know!, they fixed the pot so it doesn’t dribble, pours without a drop of dribble and the spring loaded stopper on the main basket doesn’t drip. (stronger spring I think). The filter cup is large and you can make three full pots on the same strainer before emptying or, as I do, with a standard filter paper inserted inside the strainer (you could probably make even more if you remove the strainer and put the filter paper directly in the basket, I just like the double filtering). The heater pad appears to have a nice anti-rust coating. This pot has the same clock and programming as the old one although I never use it. If there’s a power Interruption you have to reset it. The water measuring indicator is the same “stepped” indicator as the old pot except that it is almost iridescent white, easy to read and accurate. Also I like that the brewing arm swings down with the lid instead of swinging sideways as some do.
The only negative thing I have to say about the pot is that sometimes the lid pops just a hair when you put the pot under the basket, no biggie just tap it back down (or if you want to be crafty trim the ears on the main basket or bend them to a little less height).
I guess that’s about it. This is a very nice coffee pot worth the extra money, good value. I don’t know but I expect it will last another 10 or 15 years

Switch from keuregs to this because it was more cost effective. It’s just me drinking coffee, so the size is perfect, especially with limited counter space. Have had this for almost 3 months and so far it still works great as the day i got it. I haven’t testing the timer option.
I’ve seen people complain about the built in filter being hard to clean. I don’t know, it takes less that 1 minute to clean. I dump it in the trash and wash out the leftover grounds in the sink. Simple as can be.
Perfect for single casual coffee drinkers or even for dorms if you got a kiddo going off to college.

Easy to use. Like the small size. Coffee tastes good. Metal filter works well but is a pain to empty. Will try with paper filters.

Works very well, easy, absolutely no problems, coffee tastes great. Make sure to close down the top (you will hear a definite click) before brewing. I don’t use the mesh filter that comes with the unit. I prefer to use paper filters. Filling the reservoir with water is easy. I don’t need a fancy coffee maker so this is a great one for the price, and seems well made overall including the lid. It also does not slide around on the counter. I guess there are probably rubber things underneath. The coffee comes out nice and hot, and stays hot on the plate for I think 2 hours. It shuts off after the 2 hrs, but the light remains on until you click it off. I don’t use the automatic brewing timer so i can’t comment on that. I love that it doesn’t take up much room on my counter.
