Casio Men’s W96H-1AV Stainless Steel Sport Watch

I always liked digital watches and couldn’t pass this one up. It was shipped and received quickly. I found this watch to be attractive, functional and easy to use, at a very reasonable price. The hour/minute display is large (which was important to me) with adiquate brightness. The watch is very light (which I also like). The band and case are stylish and go well together. The band is unique to the watch (goes into the case, attached with screws) and probably can’t be replaced with a generic. The case is a little thick, but it goes with the styling. The watch lens is curved and has a slight sheen or distortion that distracts slightly from the contrast of the display. This is a great everyday watch that looks decent. I would give this Casio watch 4 1/2 stars if I could.

The reasons I bought this watch; first, I didn’t want to spend too much money; second, I wanted a watch that matched the colors of my car silver/black/grey; third, I wanted a watch that was water proof; fourth, I wanted a watch that I could see very easily in day light/shade/or other; fifth, I wanted a watch that had large enough numbers to read; sixth, I wanted a watch that had month/day-of-the-week/date-of-the-month and year. Fortunately, this watch covers all these requirements. This is not a fancy watch, it was not designed to be that way, it is a casual style and it is simply easy to read.

Issues that I have with this watch: the first is the band needs to be slightly longer. I have a 7.5 inch/19.05cm wrist and the band is long enough to reach around my wrist comfortably with1.3 inches / 3.5cm to spare, I would not mind having at least 1/2 inch / 13mm more. Despite this issue, I can live with it.

Another issue that I have is that at certain angles and in a certain light it is hard to see the numbers; the good news is, that is not a bad thing, it is a minor inconvenience, just have to move the watch ever so slightly and into a different light or shade.

But, overall, I am very happy with this watch and glade I bought it. It is worth every penny.

I have a similar but older model Casio watch that I purchased more than 10 years ago. The strap broke recently from wear & tear at the gym. The replacement strap (not Casio) is a bit stiff and uncomfortable. So I purchased this newer model. The new design with metal rim looks very stylish, it is comfortable to wear, and has even better accuracy than the older version.

Is a great watch from a great company the technology works 100%. The problem with Casio is they use poor watch bands, the plastic bands flex and flex until they finally break. But at this price point its a disposable product when its life is over you throw it away. With that in mind its a good deal certainly your not going to pass it down to your heirs when you die.
However I ordered the watch and it came with the watch band clasp not fully installed the pin was bent and would not lock so it basically could not stay on your arm. I probably could have fixed it but I thought I would try the free shipping returns for replacement option rather then take apart the band and fix it myself. The returns process was flawless and easy while remaining free. The time for a replacement was about a week no problems there and well within normal timeframe. However the watch a received as a replacement was used. The first watch had protective plastic over the watch basel the time and date was factory set and way off, it also was clean and scratch free. The replacement had no protective plastic, the time was set to central time and was correct a clear indication it had been previously owned and the face and band showed some minor signs of wear. All in all a poor way to treat customers from Amazons point of view this watch came from Amazons shelves. You buy a new product you should not receive a returned previously owned product in return. Not impressed at all. Guess im not worthy of getting a new replacement.

Really like this watch. Large full-face screen and numbers; light weight; screen lighting feature for night viewing works great. Watch has all the features you need and looks good as well.

The one drawback, from past experience with this model Casio: Expect the rubber watchband to crack and break within 18 to 24 months. The special design of this watchband means you cannot replace it with a standard “pinned” style watchband. You will be faced with the decision to order a new specialized band for this model Casio watch, or else buy the whole watch NEW for about the same price as the band alone. Most folks just buy the whole watch again and discard the fully functioning old one with the broken band. Bottom line: An excellent watch that is so cheap (the price of 3 Starbucks Lattes) you treat it as disposable and replace it every couple years when the band breaks.
