I really hesitated buying this for my standard poodle. Hey, Its a high price to pay for a dog brush, right? I cant afford the fees at the groomers, so I have been doing it myself. The slicker brush is really all that can penetrate my poodles thick hair and control matting. The slicker brush I had was difficult to use and my dog whined a lot, especially when brushing his legs. I spoke to MANY people at the dog park about the Chris Christensen Big G Slicker. Those who had them swore by them, so I took the plunge, knowing I could return it if I was dissatisfied.
NOT RETURNING IT!!! I cant quite tell you why, but this brush is absolutely the easiest and best slicker brush I have ever used. I will try to describe why: First, the teeth are generous, long and flexible. They are angled and (the company advertises that) the tips are ground to avoid irritating the dog. The brush is very comfortable and ergonomic to hold. The handle is generous and shaped well. But most importantly of all, it made a huge difference to my dog! He was very tolerant of this brush, way more than any other brush I have used, including the expensive boar’s hair brush I tried. (Dont bother.) Nothing compares to this brush. NOTHING. It not only gets through his fluffy thick hair, it doesnt kill him to use it! He doesnt pull away, whine or act like he’s hurting at all. The brush itself is kinder on MY skin. The teeth are not sharp and do not scrape the skin, even in tender areas. It really got into the hair and easily undid the tangles. It was super easy to clean as well, easier than my shorter slicker brush.
OK I’m now a believer in this brush. Is it worth the money? I guess so, seeing as how it turned routine grooming into a pleasant experience for me and the dog. I compared it to my old slicker brush and it’s clearly very different. So my advice is this: If your dog seems sensitive to brushing, if your hand hurts while brushing, if you find it difficult to clean a standard slicker, if you want a really high quality brush that (I presume) will last a very long time, this brush is the best quality and best performing one out there.

Vale cada centavo! A escova tira os fios soltos, mas não puxa nem quebra o restante do pelo. Ela também não arranha a pele – nem a dos cachorros, nem a dos humanos. Meu cachorro é muito mais tolerante com essa escova do que com qualquer outra.

This brush is great! Makes my maltipoo’s coat so soft and smooth. Definitely helps prevent mats. I purchased the Small. Pricey, but effective!

Extremely nice brush. I have a female Airedale. Cant say enough good about it. Detangles and brushes the loose and dead hair off the dog. It is expensive but i feel it is worth it. It is easy to use and my dog is comfortable with it. After brushing, it looked as though i had never brushed her before with the amount of hair that came off of her. I think she will be alot cooler this summer.

I work in a dog groom shop this is absolutely the best brush for any long hair dogs with undercoats or mats. I can’t believe I have been working without it all this time! It’s very durable and effective to pull out undercoat or mats perfect size for your hand and just all around the BEST dog brush!

I have a knock off version that works well. Since I brush my doodle daily, I figure I could splurge on an item I use frequently. Yes the price is expensive, however it was worth it.
I used this brush the next day after line brushing and combing with my old brush. It looks the same but there must be subtle differences in the bristles and type of material used. It was able to gather a lot of hair and I didn’t realize how much tangles he had even though his coat was smooth. It helped remove the tangles.
The brush is lightweight and easy to hold. It helps getting the undercoat hair near his skin. I tried it on my own skin and it did not hurt.
I am glad to have purchased this brush. I have never had to get my doodle shaved down due to matting.

First I want to say that I did receive this with the clear box it comes in broken and two of the pins bent, which is disappointing for an item of this cost… Amazon should really send this in a cardboard box and NOT a bag.
The brush does work wonderfully! I’ve used it on my standard poodles and did try it on my Tibetan Mastiff as well. Gets the undercoat out so well of that thick fluffy coat and he loves being brushed with it. It fluffs the poodles coat very well and she is much more tolerant of this slicker than the other ones I’ve purchased for $15 at chain pet stores.
I would definitely recommend this brush, the price is a bit steep, amazons shipping packaging could be better, but overall I am very happy with this purchase.

Like so many I was convinced a brush couldn’t be that special and justifying spending so much when the others surely do the same thing ….right??
Well I can tell you how wrong I was this brush lives up to the hype I am so impressed and do not feel like I’ve wasted a single penny other than on those other rubbish cheap imitations. My dogs fur has never been so soft other than post groom and she seems to be more relaxed during her daily brushing time too.

I had no idea the difference a good brush can make. I have a 5-month-old Goldendoodle… lots of thick puppy hair. I was watching a couple videos on grooming Doodles and one did a brush comparison. This brush stood out as an excellent and number one choice. Well, I can definitely attest that they were correct. I was very surprised what a difference the longer brush teeth (?) make. Well worth the additional cost compared to my old model. Let’s face it… you will be brushing for many, many years (10+ years), might as well have the best tools to make the job easier and will last.

Das ist die absolut beste Bürste die ich je hatte und das waren schon einige namhafte Produkte. Habe seit 30 Jahren Hunde. Bürsten war der Horror, weil mein junger Schäferhund immer nach der Bürste schnappte. Bei dieser blieb er einfach nur ruhig stehen und genoss es sichtlich???
Und das Ergebnis: in kürzester Zeit sichtlich gepflegtes Fell. Würde keine andere Bürste mehr kaufen! Und wenn ich alle bisher ausprobierten zusammenrechne, bei denen ich nie ganz zufrieden war, ist’s wesentlich teurer!

Works quickly and very well for coarse coat. Very sharp pins so must brush gentler than with other brushes. I have 2 dogs, one with curly coarse coat, other with finer soft curl coat. It is too much and seems uncomfortable for the dog with the finer coat. But expedites the brush time of the coarse coat by half. Expensive but seems very durable ( won’t need to replace it – EVER). Came highly recommended by our professional groomer too who has had hers for 5 years.
