This is a great series, for the younger student to learn coding. I have an 8 yr old grandson who is using this and really enjoying it! That’s the part about learning that is so important….the fact that the child likes what they are doing and the results they get!! Without that, the learning quest falls flat and the student becomes disinterested and bored. This is a step in the right direction for today’s younger students to grasp the computer aspect of coding and to grasp it at a young age. Highly recommend!!

I bought Roblox and Minecraft courses from CodaKid for my kids (which they love a lot) and decided to get Python course for my nephew, who is a bit older than my kids and tends not to like things that are “popular”.
He got super excited about learning python as that’s what tends to be the “coolest unpopular thing” in his opinion and the simple projects he tried before this course really got his attention.
From the first day he go so into CodaKid course, that my brother had to pull him away from the laptop because there was “one more problem that he just MUST solve” before finishing. I’ve never seen kids get so excited about Python programming. I thought my kids were the happiest ones about Roblox and Minecraft…. yeah right.
Once again, CodaKid has done awesome job on creating really engaging course with good balance of everything that is needed for kids – fun, humor, problem solving, complexity and education.
We already agreed with my brother that we are subscribing our kids for their online courses, which have a lot of other cool projects including JavaScript, Unity and Web Design. Probably the biggest bang you get for your dollar when it comes to kids coding courses…. and we tried them all – Tynker, Kodable, CodeCombat…. not even close to CodaKid.

This is a FABULOUS Teaching tool! We gave it as a gift because our son (age 13) takes the classes on site at Codakid, Scottsdale. My son LOVES the weekly lessons, so we gifted his friend with this online program because it is easy to use, the online help that is available is TOP NOTCH (High level engineers who provide excellent feedback and help). My son’s friend has begun the online Python Program and is loving it. Easy to use, understand and so much fun! I will be purchasing a few more of these as gifts for the holidays! Highly recommended, Great Value.

I was looking for something more advanced than Scratch which she knows, but easier than unity or java/c which is too much to learn. I know python so I can help out, plus I have made plenty of video games. But my kids won’t let me teach them anything, and you have to have a lot of time. This sort of works ok.
It is probably easier to go to their web site and sign up for subscription. If you buy this, you only get the python. You DONT have to buy the subscription if you own this, but it is not obvious how to use the code without the subscription:/
She uses her iPad to watch the tutorial videos, and codes on windows 10 surface laptop with keyboard and mouse. Hard to fit editor and tutorial on on small screen at the same time.
Btw, “blt” (or blit) is the PDP block transfer command.
If I did this again (which I would) I would probably do the subscription. But I am happy to have found this so she can keep learning how to make games.

I have burned many hours opening up an account on a web site. The web site CONFIRMED THAT to my email address.
Then despite ordering PYTHON, I was put through also getting an account on a SCRATCH site and setting up a SCRATCH desktop. THEN the instructor decides that to program in PYTHON I need a developer program….so I am told to go DOWNLOAD that. Where? How?
I wrote and COMPLAINED to the chat window on the site.
The PROGRAMMERS there somehow CANT find my email to which they HAVE been responding in reference to getting my MONEY.
SKIP this. This is absolutely inexcusable.
Apparently what happened was that the developers did not wish to BOTHER to really walk quickly and efficiently though the PHTHON set up so routed Python students through Scratch for irrelevant time wasting.
What of what I have described so far is worth 45 dollars US?
