Amazon Customer –
Rather not have mesh pockets, but OK for hiking.

This many very well be the first Coleman clothing I have purchased. The brand to me had a stereotypical presumption of being all about function and durability like their general outdoors camping oriented goods (lanterns, thermoses etc.). When I saw these shorts advertised they looked similar in style to other more fashion-oriented but less rugged made brands like Columbia. And I liked the Columbia’s fit and styling but wanted a little more durability in the fabric thickness as an anti-wrinkly practical consideration (got annoyed at the recollection of sitting in a chair/stool wearing the Columbia shorts then upon re-standing observing that their thinner fabric-material bunched-up and got wrinkled too easily). These were significantly cheaper too – about 25% less expensive. So thought “what the heck – let’s try a pair and see how they work out”. Glad I did. They fit, feel and look GREAT. I like athletic trim fit shorts without the more current long inseam cut style trend. These are a little shorter than the long look that has been in vogue over the last 5 or so years. Rides a little higher above the knees without looking like a geeky short-short style of the Jimmy Connors/70-80s era short-short-wear. A nudge in the right direction IMHO – just right on inseam length for my tastes. Fit is excellent – and flatters my good quad’s and lean athletic contoured leg masculine development without being too “in your face – look at me” conspicuous not pretentious. Since I already had all the regular suit of dark “macho” colors in other brands (blacks, deep grays and olive-greens etc) I went ahead and got the cool looking alpha-blues (a little deeper in color than columbia-blue – a seldom seem blue for men’s apparel). Got the medium size. Love them so much. The black infinitely adjustable belt fit has plenty of material length to reach the belt-loop to prevent it dangling short in the breeze without being too geeky long way past the loop. And the belt does not slip and lose its snug hold when one moves around or sits – precluding having to constantly have to readjust or tuck in shirts etc.
I also particularly like the long leg pockets with side zipper right-leg inner pocket access – ideal for flat-wallets or cell phone. The rear pockets, which I like to keep unused and tight and unused flat to by glutes has a nice velcro flap hold down. Gives it a nice trim-fit look and no pocket or flap material flapping in the breeze. They look great in social venues and look more upscale then look like rugged hiker shorts only seen on the trails. Yet they are quite durable and easy to clean if one spills an adult beverage condensate on them or slings some mud on them while walking real trails.
I have to now look at the Coleman brand logo/tag in a new way – as stylish clothing that is both functional and quality. Glad that they keep the red logo tag small since the general public is probably clueless what I am wearing now at the tiki bar and trendier outdoor social venues and would probably raise eye-brows if they got up close to read the Coleman tag. Highly recommended.

Love them.
unabashedpraise –
Legs and seat laughably too small. If you have any muscle in those areas, skip these shorts.
larry king –
Much too small. Legs and butt are way too tight. The shorts also end well above the knee
