I have a selmer professional alto saxophone. The case does not fit the saxophone, let alone the mouthpiece and the attachment neck. It’s a really adorable case, but not functional. Also, the padding inside is limited – I’m afraid the saxophone would easily be damaged.
If you want to spend $180 for a cute case, go for it. If you want a functional case, I would look elsewhere.
Typos –
Great, light and sturdy flight case. The saxophone (in my case, so to speak, Yanagisawa) is held/cradled well in suspension and the case’s fibreglass exterior is extremely sturdy. Note: there is very little space in the case at all. There’s just enough room for cleaning cloths, a slim strap, a mouthpiece, grease and couple of emergency reeds (when the neck is stored in the bell). That said, I am very careful with how I pack and about things getting squashed/scratched. Regardless, if you’re looking for a light, sturdy, ergonomic, backpackable case, this certainly is all of that and looks just as glossy as the pics. Only time will tell how well the latches hold up, but after a couple of weeks of constant use (pro performer and teacher), all is looking good! One of them is lockable too, so adds a little security there. Very happy!

I have a 1976 Selmer professional alto saxophone and was in need of a new case. Other reviews mention that the Selmer does not fit. I will tell you it’s not true, the Selmer DOES fit. It’s a small, sleek, light weight case which is perfect for travel. Provided is a nice velvet bag to hold the mouth piece, which then fits into the bell. (If this bothers you then the case is not for you). There is not however room for extra mouth pieces.

The case is striking in red and holds my Mark VI bari securely. Latches are not confidence inspiring, albeit I’ve not had a problem. Lots of plastic in construction. Biggest issue, it scratches so easily. Contacted company and they were basically no help in how to protect the finish. That said, love how it looks and its so much lighter than the original case. Most importantly it holds horn securely BUT I would be careful NOT to take a chance on dropping it. A bit pricely after all, but much cooler than black fabric or vinyl cases. Lastly, wheels are cheap BUT you should never drag a bari sax by the wheels anyway.

This is smaller than any case that I know of including gig bags.
I use this for local transport only, so that I do not have to put any wear on the Custom Z case
This case will be too fragile for any other kind travels or anything that would require stack storage would not be okay.Â
It looks like it can take a drop, nothing too crazy.. but the impact may cause some misalignment, not sure I do not plan to test that theory out.
It has a bell neck/MP pouch but I use a Protec pouch.
If you are a person who likes to carry all kinds of accessories and books this will not be of help for you, get a messenger bag.
The best price was below $140 with a lock and leather handle, I chose this over the BAM because the BAM is just too bulky for me, plus the rubber handle and pay more for a lock. I do feel the BAM offers more protection but not too the extent of its cost and style.
I have a Crossrock case for my Tenor 82zII as well.Â
I would not recommend this to a grade school student that does not have a professional maturity for their instrument.

I bought this for my serious middle-schooler to take to and from practice 1-2 times per week. This is the most compact and lightweight option in a truly hard case with backpack straps. It’s somewhat pricey, but not as much as the high-er end hard cases, and will protect the instrument. The smooth plastic surface allows for personalizing with stickers, and has an old-school “gigging musician” look to it. The case fits a Yamaha YAS-23 perfectly, with room for a few reeds, and not much else, not even a padded strap. I also don’t completely trust the latches, which can easily be bumped open (and the key didn’t work in the lock), but they have a little tab on them, which means they won’t slip off if unlatched. Also, it’s not likely that all 3 will open at the same time. We got a webbing strap (made from an outdoor belt) that clips around it, just in case (I would do this on a higher-end case as well). After 6 months of relatively light use, it has held up well. Still very happy with the purchase.

Stylish, compact and light weight. And it fits my Selmer SuperAction 80. Besides the neck, mouth piece, I can squeeze in a cork grease, neck strap, a 10-reed case and a cleaning cloth. That’s it. No room for a tuner. Maybe I will write again in one year and see how it holds up.
P.S.: The padding is very limited due to its compact design. When traveling, I would not want to check in as a luggage. I carry on. I don’t think the saxophone will survive high impact.
