The 4/4 string for G we received was 36″ inches long total length. There was no extra length to fit the sting through to the peg and use. So, be wary of lengths when ordering. Our 4/4 size string was way too short.

I’m an adult beginner, but an experienced pianist and violinist so I hope my review is useful. These strings made a huge difference in tone to my (brand new) “Stentor Student” cello, which is a very basic beginner’s instrument. It came with what I reckon were the cheapest possible strings. I bought an A, a D and a G. Easier to play too, as they are easier to depress. Expensive for beginners but I was really encouraged by the sound I could make.

The string snapped less than a month after it was fitted. (After paying £16, I expected it to last a while). Perhaps it was a faulty string I was sent but regardless, I am not happy. I will have to replace it AGAIN. I advise you to consider buying your strings from different company.
