I have a rather cheap violin and always wondered why it sounded so plain and why I hard to press rather hard to get a loud sound. This set is soo much better and now that I have a new bow it’s like a whole new instrument and can’t put it down. I’m very novice but I feel like I can’t take it more seriously now that I can actually get it to make a better quality sound. Thank you for providing these and helping me in my journey. These strings will definitely last a long time if one takes good care.

My son has started playing violin this year in school and we have an old antique violin at home that he is going to play once he gets further along with his learning of the instrument. I ordered several of these sets of strings to have on hand for back up for his school instrument and ours at home. My was husband was able to restring the antique one easily and tuned it. A family fiddle player friend came and played on it and the sound was really nice and he said they are good quality.

Sound is clear but while tuning up to standard A440, the D string broke at the start of the winding by the tuning pegs. See attached photo.

This s a good set for a beginner violin or as spares to hold you over in case of an emergency. Make sure you always check your E string especially to see if you need a Ball or a Loop at the end to fit your fine tuner.

These strings are very reasonably priced and good to have as spares, especially for students. I do wish that they had been separately packaged. If you use the little plastic sleeve to protect your bridge from the E string note that it’s not included here.

I cannot call myself a real violin player. I have on that I’ve played, badly, for 20+ years. It finally dawned on my how long it has been since I replaced the string. These Danchet strings are way nicer than anything I’ve ever played. I also got a new bow several months ago. Between the two it’s like a new instrument. I am just getting used to the smoother sound and more subtle response. I’ve always had to bear down a little more to get the gentle rise in tone that comes more easily now.
It may be my old ears but the strings seemed to mellow over the first week. I play guitar too and new guitar strings stretch and mellow but these violin strings seem to do it a little differently. Like guitar strings, they are bright right away. Line guitar strings, one string can seem too loud or out of balance with the other 5, usually the B or high E. With these violin strings the E seemed a little “edgy” but that evened out with play. I don’t change strings often enough to know if this is common but if you hear it, it may level out like mine did.
I hope more experienced players expand the reviews. For me I am very impressed. Now, about the package. It is eye catching and I expect there is a story?

Seem fine but unfortunately the violin shop told me that my used violin was a 4/4 and it’s actually a 3/4 so I can’t really use these. Will update if I get the opportunity.

This string set is nice because it is an affordable set for beginners. The aluminum wrap around a steel core seems solid enough and each string is labeled for easy installation. They were easy to install. While they have a bit of a harder, brighter sound than my original strings, they work well enough. Perhaps the sound will mellow a bit with more playing time.
