We own a Transmission shop. I offer this pan to reduce heat adds fluid. Lower trans temp the longer she will last! Well worth the money! I APPROVE THIS PAN 33 YEARS EXPERIENCE – 21 YEARS SHOP OWNER

I have a 1999 4r100 transmission in a motor home. I’ve had two of these cooling pans in the past 10 years with approximately 12,500 miles on each one. They both have had to be replaced due to leaking tubes. It does a great job cooling the transmission fluid, but the welds leak at around 12,000 miles. Will replace one more time and hopefully the welds will be better quality this time.

Installed the Derale 14208 Transmission Cooling Pan on our 2003 Ford E450 with the 4R100 transmission, and it’s been a game-changer. The cooling pan effectively lowered transmission temperatures by about 20 degrees. Impressed with its sturdy build quality, the installation process was a breeze, making it accessible even for those with minimal mechanical expertise. If you’re seeking a reliable solution to enhance transmission performance, this cooling pan is a solid choice, delivering on its promises with an impactful temperature reduction.

This pan is awesome! I read several reviews stating that it does not fit on an Excursion with the 7.3 due to the crossmember for the trans. First attempt at the install I also encountered the pan coming in contact with the crossmember… after a while of encountering this issue, I simply did some wiggling and rotating slightly of the pan and presto! The pan went on flawlessly, looks great, the extra capacity is nice, and hopefully I have as good of luck with the cooling aspect as others have found. As a side note, I also read that the drain plug likes to leak… I tested mine before installation by filling with water, torqued the plug to 20 ft. lbs… low and behold after installing the pan and filling it, mine began to leak at the drain plug. I ended up torqueing the drain plug to 22 ft. lbs. and so far 48 hours later, no more leaks. So if anyone is interested in a good torque for the drain plug, I found 22 ft. lbs. works great, not overtight and tight enough to seal her up. Good luck to everyone installing this pan, and yes it does fit on the 7.3 Excursions!

My story starts a year ago with a blown transmission in my 99.5 F250 7.3/4R100 on a camping trip to Big Bear CA. One transmission rebuild later, the yearly trip to Big Bear was months away and I was concerned it would happen again.
What I did after my was install the Glowshift 4 gauge pack, this Deralle transmission pan, the Dieselsite 40 row O2A secondary trans cooler, and a trans bypass delete kit.
I just returned from that yearly trip and the highest temp I hit from North County San Diego to the Serrano campground in Big bear which involves pulling a trailer up past the 8K’ elevation line was 170 degrees. Now, that 170 degrees I actually hit in traffic on the 215 near March Airforce base with less than 20mph worth of wind hitting the front of the truck. The temp on the climb up the mountain topped out at just over 160 degrees holding 30-45mph up the hill. From the top of the hill to the city of Big Bear I shed 20 degrees.
Now, I can’t vouch for how much this pan contributed. I haven’t done testing to determine how much the air channels do or don’t contribute to cooling. I don’t have control points for how much each modification I’ve done to the transmission netted X amount of efficiency. All I can say is this pan, my secondary cooler, and the trans delete kit together perform incredibly well together. Anyone looking to improve the towing performance of their old 4R100 or the 5R110 this pan is IMO an essential component.

I highly recommend this Transmission pan if you have a E4OD transmission on the floor. It makes a lot of difference in his performance as far as the fluid staying cool and maintaining. It’s got a transmission fluid drainage plug on it which the factory pan does not. That makes changing your transmission fluid we needed is easy is changing you in your motor You can’t go wrong.

The pan fit very well. Looks good. Did a pan swap with a filter swap. Took about 11 quarts total. I would recommend this pan. Will post some pics soon.

Exact fit, easy installation and instructions very through. Heat distribution for cooler temperatures is very creative and exceptionally for the extreme hauler! Definitely recommend!
