We got this for our daughters room and it was very easy to setup. She loves to play it and it sounds great. The keys work really well and the overall look is great!

This digital piano is definitely more ideal for younger individuals. The piano stand doesn’t sit very high. I measured the stand at 26 inches tall and the keyboard width at 49″. As an adult, I can sit underneath it and play it, but it sits just a tad too low for my liking. Thankfully, this digital piano was intended for my 9 year old daughter, who has shown great interest in playing the piano. For her, it’s perfect.

Another slight disappointment was the exclusion of a bench or seat to sit on. It seems like something like that would have been included. Fortunately, I had an old bench from a makeup vanity that fit under there perfectly. On a good note, this piano does not take up too much space and is lightweight for moving when needed.

As far as the actual piano is concerned, it’s pretty nice. It has a plethora of options and sounds to allow my daughter to make limitless musical creations. The addition of the sustain pedals was excellent! My daughter is able to practice how to incorporate those into musical expression.

The manual is an essential reference in terms of function and operation. It contains a list of all the tones and their number location, along with instruction on how to apply the list of options displayed on the function icon.

This digital piano does not feature Bluetooth connection but does have an audio input/output jack located in the back for connecting to larger speaker systems. It also has a headphone jack, which is nice for moments where silence is required. However, the lack of Bluetooth dismisses the opportunity to use with wireless headphones. It also has a USB port located on the back. This allows you to connect it to a computer.

Overall, it’s a great beginners digital piano. While it does lack some features I’d like to see, for the price point, it’s offered at a fair value. My daughter is very happy with it, so that’s what’s most important.

This Donner Digital Piano Keyboard is like having Beethoven in a box. With its velocity-sensitive 88 keys, it feels like the piano is reading your mind. Whether you’re channeling Chopin or banging out “Chopsticks,” this keyboard has got you covered.

Perfect for beginners and pros alike, the removable stand means you can take your show on the road. The split mode is a game-changer; you can play duets with yourself and finally win every argument about who played it best.

The LCD screen and triple pedal? They make you feel like you’re in a high-tech recording studio, even if you’re just jamming in your pajamas. And let’s not forget: this piano makes it so easy to pretend you’re a musical genius that even your cat will be impressed.

I got this for my daughter, as she expressed an interest in learning to play the piano. Since we don’t have a lot of room, this is a great option. It’s easy to put together, and doesn’t take up a ton of space. The keyboard is easily removable, allowing for storage or portability. It does sound great, with it being able to sound like a regular piano as well as other instruments. The best part? Headphone jack. Headphones can be plugged into it, which means my daughter can go ham on that thing, and it won’t disturb the neighbors. There are pedals, and a place to sit a music book. It also came with stickers (numbered) so that beginners can learn which keys are where. It does have to be plugged in to work, so do keep that in mind.

The keyboard itself isn’t bad, especially for the price. It is a full size keyboard. The stand, on the other hand, is for a child. We replaced the stand with one made for adults. I used to play the piano many years ago and my son and grandkids wanted to learn so this seemed to perfect solution without having to invest in a new piano and not having the space for a full size piano. It has the foot pedals, which I am glad it comes with. The stand was easy to assemble. It was also easy to move the keyboard to another stand for the adults to play. It is a good keyboard to lean on and no one has any complaints. We’re all learning together with this keyboard.

The Donner DEP-08 is a digital piano that appears to be meant as a starter instrument for younger children. That information is not really anywhere on the listing, but I’m basing it on the rather small piano stand (too low for most adults).

The piano and the stand are separate and so the piano can be used with a regular keyboard stand or just put down on a desk or in a pinch on a coffee table. The digital piano part is fairly light and while large, quite portable.

The stand is basic, although once put together, it makes a nice impression. There construction is solid and the stand feels very secure.

Donner uses a velocity sensitive synth style keybed in this instrument. The keys aren’t very light and offer some resistance but of course they don’t feel like a real piano.

The instrument has a USB MIDI port which allows a connection to a computer or an iPad. Many piano apps can communicate or at least read the notes played on a connected piano and this is a very useful feature. For an more advanced user this opens a whole set of possibilities of arranging music using powerful functions of modern music software.

The piano is equipped with a set of stereo speakers. The speakers point towards the back of the instrument, away from the player and depending on where the piano is positioned the sound might be a bit distant. The actual quality of the piano sound is in my opinion quite good and the volume can get quite loud. If that is not desired, there is a headphone port for completely silent practice.

The piano features almost 400 different selectable sounds, over 100 rythms and 128 tone polyphony. The controls are fairly minimal to keep in line with the serious piano aesthetics, so choosing instruments is not as intuitive as on some other keyboards and the manual comes in handy.

I think this is a very nice choice for a child just starting to learn the instrument and offers a good overall value for the money. The full size 88 key keybed is going to be useful for practising pieces that would not be possible or easy to play on a smaller keyboard. The stand that the piano comes with, is ideally sized probably for a child between 6 and 12 years old , but since the keyboard can be easily moved to taller stand when necessary, the piano can somewhat grow with the child.

The biggest issue I have with this Donner piano is the competition. And I mean the competition from higher end Donner pianos. At this time the DEP-08 model has a $50 coupon that brings the before tax price to $350. That is definitely very attractive, but as of today, Donner DEP-10 has a $100 off coupon which brings the price of that model with a stand to $450 before taxes. The extra money gets you a better, semi-weighted keyboard offering a closer feel to a real instrument and a full size stand that can be used by an adult. In my opinion these features are well worth the money. Do your research and don’t forget to check the sales!

Works great, feels good. Especially for kids but adults can use it too. The drum mode is a nice extra as well. Stand is kinda short so its more geared for kids.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a keyboard at this price point. I have a few keyboards including a high end Native Instruments model. The keyboard comes with a stand you need to assemble. The stand was easy to put together. The keyboard then attaches to the stand. The keys are weighted with a solid feel making this keyboard comfortable to play. The foot pedals all work properly and the controls are easy to use. The sound quality of the speakers is good and there is plenty of volume to fill a room. There are additional outputs that allow you to connect to other devices. This is a good keyboard for the price that is good for beginners or experienced players alike.

About 2 years ago my son used his own money (gotten from his 11th birthday) to purchase a used keyboard (no stand) and has been self-taught learning how to play it. I’ve been really impressed that he’s stuck with it and has gotten pretty good. When I saw this I just had to get it for him. He is over the moon happy. He’ll need to learn how to use the pedals but he’s excited to do just that.
It didn’t take long at all to build the stand and it seems sturdy enough. The keyboard has some nice features like split mode that will really broaden a players possibilities to be able to add sounds like drums or string instruments and can aid in learning in general, touch sensitive keys, can record/playback, has a headphone jack, AUX in/out, USB-MIDI and has many rhythms and tones to choose from.
I’m no expert and can’t play personally so unfortunately I can get technical with my opinion besides saying this appears to be a solid keyboard with the kinds of options most would be looking to have for a beginner to mid range player.
My now teenage son is very happy with this and has been playing on it many times a day since we received it. I may have to start learning myself. The price seems about right for the features this has and even better if you can snag it with a coupon.
I recommend and my son gives 2 thumbs up as well.
