Nice strings. Sound great on my Les Paul Gothic. Black is just coated so it wears quickly from your favorite positions, but that happens with any string and was to be expected.

I use these on a Pirated Edition Acoustic I built. Wasn’t sure how they would sound. I use brass bridge pins and a bone saddle. I get good comments from everyone who hears them or playes my guitar. i do set up my Guitars with good action, and adding these Black smooth and silky strings on a white acoustic make them and the guitar stand out. I also use them on my custom electrics i build and have no problem with sustain or artificial pinch harmonics. So in short matey’s. I have fallen in love with these Enchanting Black Beauties.

Been using DR strings for a long time. I decided to give the BLACK BEAUTIES a try on my bass first. They are awesome and made my bass look badass. The sound is also amazing. After having great results with my bass strings, I decided to get them for my acoustic guitar. The sound and the look are amazing. Great quality strings

I put the strings on the guitar on Saturday evening. I dont use a pick and less than 48 hours later the bottom 3 strings have started to shed their coating revealing the silver underneath.
It hasn’t been played hard and probably only 2 to 3 hours of light playing.
Its a real shame actually as they look incredible on the guitar but sadly they’re merely decorative.

I ignored some of the other comments about these strings losing their color and all that and I bought them anyway. I am so glad that I did. They sound great and have a nice slick feel to them. I have had mine for several months now and they are showing no signs of losing their dark black color. And I am here to tell you that I play that guitar every single day, for two or more hours at a time. I highly recommend them.

Love the strings, however, played with a metal pick once and ripped off some of the coating. Otherwise the strings are perfect, great flexibility, sustain, sound and long lasting too. They also look great on a guitar.

They do get ugly after even a week of use, especially the first three strings and especially the high E. The coating comes off from picking and the strings get to looking splotchy. I suppose you could color them in with a black marker, but what would be the point? I did notice I could play longer because the coating was easy on the fingers, but after a couple weeks I changed them out. Won’t buy again.

I bought a moderately priced guitar recently and the sound wasnt very good, i thought of getting rid of it because of that but first I tried a few different strings. These strings turned it around completely, they have such a great beautiful sound. Highly recommended.
