Absolutely love this! Works fantastic and sooo easy to use and clean. Very quiet compared to my old one. Thinking on making this my Christmas to my family this year because now it’s like I am making ice cream constantly. My whole family loves it
Made a simple vanilla batch today. While reading the recipe I noticed the ingredients would no way test the capacity of the mixing cylinder. So I doubled it and proceeded. Maybe filled it half way. But I wanted to get an ice cream maker that would make enough to last a while. Dessert for breakfast and lunch deserve a try right? Easy to clean up. The electric motor fit well and sounded strong enough. I didn’t run it until it stopped on its own. I guessed a little earlier than the instructions suggested and employed the old hand crank. The hand crank goes on the opposite way than I first tried. I thought there was going to be a problem. I must have overlooked that part of the instruction. Maybe explaining it would be confusing. Suffice it to say when you attempt to place the hand on the wooden tub, it only goes on one way. The tub was easy to clean. I rinsed it quite thoroughly. I did fill it with water two hours before my ice cream making process per the instructions so the water would get the wooden tub’s material to expand. It still leaked a bit at the base inside the space that is out of site. But it was maybe a half cup of salted water. I expect this leaking issue will decrease or go away all together after a few more uses. Little assembly necessary. Just a Phillips screw drive for the screw in the hand crank handle. I tightened the screws for the hardware that holds the hand crank/electric crank since the screw driver was at the ready. After this first use I can say so far so good. I am happy with the complete product.

We’ve made homemade ice cream before, but never with a machine. After watching a video, we quickly learned how to use it; while the written instructions were fine, I find videos more helpful. The manual option was fun the first time, but we’ve been making a lot of ice cream lately so we now just set it up and walk away.
The inner container has plenty of space for a large batch. My kids and I have had fun experimenting with various flavors and techniques, sometimes even on the same day. So far we’ve made vanilla, cookies and cream, strawberry, and salted caramel. With multiple uses and different recipes, we’ve had no issues, and once we figured out the setup for the first batch the rest for quick and easy.
Cleaning the inner container is easy (and it’s not heavy, so not an issue when full), allowing us to make a few batches of ice cream without needing to refreeze the container again. The outer bucket has some weight but isn’t really heavy which is a plus when you’re trying to clean out the salt, ice, and water. A lot of use and everything has held up just fine.
I expected us to use this as an occasional thing, but since it’s been easy to use we’ve been using it regularly. I’m looking into ice cream containers so we can store a few big batches.

Wow! This is a great product. Good quality materials. Wooden basket adds a nice vintage look. Good quality materials for the churn accessory. I love it. It has both the options which is great. The regular traditional hand churning which again gives the vintage feel and the modern electric one. Hand churning gives a nice and firm ice cream. Easy to clean, assemble and use. Aluminum ice cream bowl keeps the ice cream at cool temperature. Ice cream recipe book is cherry on the top.

On the first use the motor had an odor like it was burning. On the second use the motor cut off half way through mixing. Tried to finish mixing with the hand crank but the handle fell off. On the third use the motor started making grinding noise. Elite Gourmet would not honor the warranty as they said that the unit was used when purchased. According to Amazon it was not used, the box was damaged. We have dismantled the motor to find that the connection was not secure. We have fixed it with a shim and hopefully we will be successful with the next use. As a side note, we have found that the recipe we tried from the book included was too large for the 4 quart machine. We have since started cutting the recipes in half.

There is nothing like homemade ice cream. I used to make it with my grandpa growing up and have fond memories of it so I decided to get one myself. I love how this one includes BOTH a hand crank option for the classic ice cream making experience and an electric option to speed things up a bit. It includes an aluminum bucket and and the wooden barrel bucket seems to be good quality wood and looks great. There are many great ice cream recipes online but it also includes some in the manual. Great ice cream machine and a great experience for younger kids!

This really is a cool old fashioned ice cream maker. The bucket is large and it is easy to hook up and use the pieces. It has an old fashioned look to it and a hand crank that can be used, or the electric mixer. It is durable and fairly quiet. It is easy to clean and not too messy. It works well and is fun to use. It would also make a great gift.

Gracias a esto ahora puedo hacer gelato y sorbete, quedan con una perfecta textura, y para los que dicen que s ele derrama el hielo en que se derrite es porque primero debe dejarse con agua dentro la cubeta para que la madera se expanda.

Bucket does not leak. Rotating tin ice cream cylinder bends easily. Hand crank is cheaply made. Motor seems to work well but seems a little flimsy. Longevity is a concern. It does a good job of making ice cream and the price seems fair so I give it 5 stars because it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

This is not a high end ice cream maker, but for the money it works better than I expected and has some nice features. Initially it seemed that most of the parts that came with the freezer were lightweight and cheaply made. I like the fact that it comes with an electric motor AND manual crank. The wooden tub is substantial and everything fits well. But the bottom line question is – does it make good homemade ice cream? The answer is – it really does! Our family has made ice cream for years but when the last maker wore out, we didn’t want to drop $300-500 for the top of the line. I’m happy with purchase and hoping it lasts our family for several years.
