Encore Software, LLC Print Shop Deluxe 6.4 [PC Download]

Didn’t fully download and install.

I finally upgraded my computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I was disappointed to find out that Print Shop Deluxe 23.1 did not run on this operating system. I had a lot of files that I hadn’t used in quite some time and didn’t have printouts. This version DOES run under Windows 10 (even though some of the reviewes say it doesn’t). I didn’t have any issues installing it. Not only that, but there is a feature that allows you to import Print Shop Deluxe 23.1 files (and alos other versions of Print Shop). I thought I lost all those files (going to make PDF files of them now). There are some features that are a bit different but so far I’m working OK. There is an auto save feature but just make sure you save the file in the correct folder from the start.

I’ve NEVER felt the need to leave a review on anything I’ve bought from amazon before so this is my 1st review. My anger & frustration with this product has me so upset I just had to leave a review to save others from making the same mistake I did to waste money on this. I used an older version of Printshop Deluxe for years and always loved it. Unfortunately, it no longer works on WIN10. I had to buy this updated version that claims it works on WIN10 but it’s ABSOLUTE TRASH! IT DOESN’T WORK ON WIN10 at all. You would think they’d upgrade & improve this from the previous version which was amazing, so user friendly & had great flexible & customizable features. This new version is worse than anything I’ve ever used, it’s beyond laggy in every aspect. It takes years (literally 5 min or more, so if you’re on a rush project, this application is NOT IT) to even open a project, render the print preview, or print just to name a few. Moving anything on the project is the MOST FRUSTRATING….a textbox, image, line etc takes forever or is hard to get exactly where you want it without it randomly jumping around to various locations of the page you weren’t even close to all on its own. Dropdown options are not user friendly either & are limited in what you can actually do, I’ve had to just keep clicking around until the right dropdown option appears, If you’re not quick & click the option you want the dropdown disappears & you have to waste another 5 min clicking around hoping it pops up again. Due to time constraint on a project I hastily bought this without reading the reviews but based on my previous experience of this product I figured a new version could only get better, I WAS WRONG!!!!! DON’T WAST YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh boy! So frustrating to use! I’ve used Print Shop for years and this one lacks many of my favorite features other versions have have. The features this one lacks are ones that have made Print Shop more versatile than other poster and presentation programs. This one lacks the feature that lets you space lines less than one space apart. Also, this program automatically puts a space between paragraphs. I like to put words on their own line sometimes for effect and the extra line in between is a waste of space and ruins the look I am trying to attain. This one also has less ways to adapt photos and graphics- no freehand crop, no cropping to shapes.
I like to stack text and graphics sometimes. This edition would only sometimes let me do this. It involves how the pieces are layered and I tried everything I could to get the pieces to show like I wanted them to. Sometimes it would work and sometimes not. Frustrating!
I wish I had dug out the edition I’m used to using instead of going for this downloadable edition. Or, I wish I had paid a little extra and gotten another edition. All in all, this edition got the job done but not without more work and frustration than other Print Shop products I’ve used.
