EQUADOSE Pill Cutter V2, Professional Medical Splitter

This is a good product for small pills, or pills that need to be quartered. I have small pills for my cat that need to be cut into 4 pieces. I tried with my other cutter, and no luck (the pill was too shallow). This one has blades at both the top and the bottom, so the pill height isn’t an issue. The adjustable pill holder makes the first cut (halves) super easy. The 2nd cut (quarters) is a bit more challenging as you have to get the pill aligned in just the right position, but once you lock it in place, it cuts great. Can really recommend this product. It has saved me a ton of time and frustration.

As a working professional who needed to cut thousands of pills a week, this cutter serves very well for me.
1. It cuts accurately, and you can SEE what you are cutting.
2. There are some pills that are too small to be held in place, but as long as you cut it on a flat table there is no issues cutting it anyway.
3. there is much less breakage than other cutters
4. You can cut a large oblong tablet into quarters crosswise, not possible for other cutters.
5. Durable, every part serves its purpose and is easy to clean.

I’ve had my Equidose V2 Pill Splitter for just over half a year of regular use. In the beginning, I would get nice crisp, clean cuts from my Equidose V2 pill splitter.
It is so simple to center the pill, add the cover, then apply the necessary pressure to activate the cutting mechanism- voila! A neatly halved pill.
I’ve had to cut my pills into 1/8’s on a regular basis, & this has been a useful tool. My Equidose V2 Pill Splitter gets quite a lot of use every month with more than one medication requiring reduction.
As of late, I see that my pills are breaking/crumbling upon cutting. I’m no longer seeing a nice crisp cut anymore. 😝
I looked to see if there is any kind of warranty/exchange backing up their claim to the blades never getting dull-I couldn’t find any. 🤷‍♀️
These cutters are by far the best I’ve ever had, most all of the cutters out there are junk that you shouldn’t waste your money on.
I am a bit disappointed that my pills amass crumbled bits in the bottle now and there is no recourse.
My Equidose V2 Pill Splitter still works, just not superbly as before.

Having 3 types of significant arthritis in my hands I do find this pill cutter a joy and a relief to use! I read previous reviews of this pill cutter and other brands before purchasing. This pill cutter design made more sense. The quality is great, cutter works extremely well, cutting a clean edge right down the middle of the pills. We have many shapes and sizes to our meds from oblong to round pills. You do need to make sure the pill is centered for the final outcome. It’s a bit difficult for me to pull back the mechanism that holds the pills in place with my arthritic fingers due to the smaller size of it. I would suggest the company make a larger pill cutter of the same design specifically for people with arthritis. A larger area to grasp the end of the slide to pull and push it to hold/release the pills would be very beneficial. That being said, I do love this pill cutter! It cuts easily when you press the cover down in the center and has most definitely made pill cutting much easier. A tab off to both sides on the bottom portion, to place a finger(s) on, would help hold it in place when removing the top portion after cutting. My fingers do not bend well, hence the need for a larger overall area to grasp. Thanks.

I bought this pill cutter, because my cat has been prescribed Gabapentin, and if you’ve EVER tried to ‘cut’ a Gabapentin Tablet evenly ‘in half’, you will know how almost IMPOSSIBLE it is to do, without it shattering into small pieces! I was tearing my hair out trying to cut these tablets! So I went searching for some sort of ‘alternative’ way to cut my cats Gabapentin Tablets, and I came across THIS WONDERFUL PILL CUTTER! Although initially I have to admit that I did have to think twice before actually purchasing it, because it is quite expensive, I was SO desperate, I thought I’d give it a go! And I am SO glad I did! It works slightly differently from most other pill cutters, because instead of using the standard ’single’ blade, this little pill cutter has TWO BLADES, one on the top blue cover, and another one that comes up from underneath the white bottom. The interior has a ‘guide’ that holds the pill securely in place, preventing it from sliding around whilst you cut it, and the ‘platform’ that you place the pill onto, is ‘floating’ on some sort of a ‘sprung mechanism’, so that when you push down on the blue cover, that contains the first blade, at the same time, the second blade comes up from the bottom, underneath the pill, so then cutting the pill with TWO blades instead of a single blade! A basic, simple concept, but it actually WORKS! I found that the most successful way to use this pill cutter, was to use both hands, and then push down on either side of the cutter, evenly, using the base of my thumbs (see photo 1). It managed to make light work in cutting all of my Tablets, which are less prone to shattering (see photo 2), but it did also manage to successfully cut my cat’s Gabapentin as well, upon ‘most’ attempts, but that wasn’t the fault of this pill cutter, the fault, as I’ve said, lies in the type of tablets that my cat is currently taking. So, to sum up, yes, it IS on the pricey side, but if you have to cut medication Tablets on a regular basis, the time and stress that this pill cutter will save you, makes it definitely WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD!
