Brian Michaud –
I’ve never had strings beak so quickly. I do tend to break strings more than the typical player (which my band mates have always liked to joke about), but I snapped a G and D in the same rehearsal – that was a first.
Randy S. –
Made my Martin OM Spruce/Quilted Maple sound much fuller, brighter and a bit more volume. They work well on my Brad Daniels MJ also Engelmann/Cocobolo. I will use them again.
Fernand Ray –
Very specific strings. Nubies are always raving about this or that string set as being “the best”, and that’s silly. Different strings serve different purposes. Different guitars work best with different strings.
The plain strings of this set are, well, the same as any other steel strings. The Alu-Bronze wound strings put out a scooped spectrum. They are bright, they are bassy, and recessed in the midrange. IMHO they don’t compliment a D-18. But on a guitar that’s overly honky in the midrange, like a small-bodied parlour or travel type guitar, these strings are like a revelation. I like low tension, so I’m using the lights and extra lights on a 22″ scale Luna Safari that I’ve had for 7 years, the lights for more volume, and the extra lights for super wide bending. Wiping down with FingerEase spray helps tame the finger speak-squeak — and prolongs the useful life of the strings.
Jesse Gentile –
I was hoping that they would be a bit more bright but they sounded rather flat in my opinion. Of course, it is a subjective and lies in the opinion of the player / listener. I will stick with Phosphor bronze.
Dale E. Basye –
I had restrung my guitar with these strings, then had the G string break during the very first song. I quickly restrung, then had the new G string break during the second to last song. Really embarrassing.
Matt s. –
Broke very easily after 1 hpur of play.
John –
