I like these strings much better than the D Addarios on my classical guitar. The sound is warmer and with the little pin at the bottom they’re easier to install rather than having to tie knots for each string

These are very good strings for a classical guitar, they are easy to install, they sound very good and stay in tune reasonably well. I recently restored a 1949 Gretsch classical guitar and put these strings on it, and it sounds incredible. Most of the tone I credit to the guitar but some of the credit goes to the strings. The only reason I didn’t give a full five stars is because 30 minutes after I installed the strings, the ball on the end of the 1st string (high E) slid right off the end of the string. Luckily, I had an extra non-ball end string to replace it with. So far the other strings have held on fairly well.

I needed something temporary to play on until I could get my bread hooks on some real steel. These have a surprisingly tender sound, and are perfect for beginners (not me, my friends son, you’re reading the review of a gen-u-wine, ar-teest!) Ended up being more than I thought they’d be.

I bought these for my Caramel 6-string guitalele, and they’re the perfect balance of tone, playability, and smoothness.
This is one of those “Goldilocks stories” of going through many sets of nylgut, nylon, tied-end as well as ball-end classical strings of varying tensions.
The Aquila strings that were ‘intended’ for use on the guitalele (and tuned a perfect 4th above standard guitar tuning) snapped on my during the first few hours of play.
D’addario classical strings worked okay, but the standard tension was too loose and rubbery, and the hard tension set was brutal on the fingers at the higher pitch.
These are perfect. I had them tuned to the ‘4th above rule’ – ADGCEA, but the high A felt a bit too stiff.
By lowering the pitch a half-step to G#C#…., I found the perfect balance.
The ball ends on these worked out perfectly, and yes they took a few days to stretch out, but they stay very stable during play. They’re also very reasonably priced.
