I’m only giving this 4 stars because it’s on the flimsy side. We use this at the bottom of stairs for when we don’t want the fur-babies upstairs. Keeping it because it works.

Okay so this is a pressured gate so my toddler can’t knock it down so for me that’s keen.. yes she can see over it but it does the job which is keep her safe and outta danger, the latch is a grove system and it’s sturdy the quality okay it looks like it’s unfinished wood and it was put together that’s my only dislike and it’s ease to use height again my daughter can see over it

This gate is similar to gates my parents had to block stairs, however it is not as sturdy. I don’t like the plastic “lock/stablizer” at the end of the measuring stick. It is difficult to use, difficult to release, and seems cheap. The material the gate is made of seems like wood and may be would, but the pieces are thin and not as sturdy as previously. I’m keeping the gate as an extra, but I don’t really like it much. The price is the only good thing about it, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Gate works as described. It is easy to use and attractive. Would buy again.

There are many reasons why this is a substandard product.
-the instructions are printed on the shipping box and largely covered by the shipping label, which can’t be removed without taking the printed instructions with it.
-the bottom bumper, which is supposed to fit snugly against the wall in plastic fittings you have to attach to your walls, are so low they butt up. against the baseboard, thus making it impossible to engage the upper bumper. I had to install the gate several inches off the floor in order to get above the baseboards.
-the gate must be aligned so bumpers fit into plastic fittings which you have to attach to your walls, ugly and difficult to align correctly.
-the plastic clip that secures the gate mechanism in place does not engage and disengage efficiently. No matter how hard I push or pull the lever, it barely slides on or off the bar that adjusts and secures the width of the gate.. so far the gate has stayed in place, but just barely secured by the ‘lock’.
-it isn’t an ugly gate, but it is an ugly, inefficient design.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this product. I should return the two gates I purchased, but I marked the adjustment bar at the correct size for my doorways, so it isn’t in unused condition.
Extremely disappointing purchase. They were cheap, but not even worth that price.
