This skull looks great! Paint job is solid and doesn’t flake, though like any decor be careful not to scratch it or wash it with harsh cleaners, since that will break down the paint.
One complaint I have about it is that around the opening of the eye sockets, nasal passage, and hole in the cranium is that there’s sharp edges to the resin where the holes were made. (Forgot to take pictures of what the edges looked like right out of the box) The edges were so sharp that it didn’t feel responsible knowing my pet could rub up against them. So I sat down for 10 minutes and sanded it all down. Now it’s smooth and ready to go into the tank.
I can’t wait to see my baby bearded dragon sit on it!

I ordered this skull for a new fish tank setup. It sinks just fine, if anybody else is worried about that.
I needed something decent sized and natural looking, so that I could sneak it in one of my planted tanks. I normally don’t do fake decor, but I was craving something fun. (Bob is definitely a fun guy!) The paint job is done pretty well, so no real need to touch him up to make it look more realistic. Once it is covered in algae, it’s gonna look awesome 🙂
As some reviewers have mentioned, there are a few rough spots inside, especially around the eye sockets, so this guy needs a date with a Dremel, but that’s a quick fix.

I got this for my baby Bearded Dragon’s cage. I was surprised at how large it is and how genuine it looks. I was worried that when I got this, it would just look like a cheap piece of crap but it’s really not. While my expectations weren’t out of this world or anything they were surpassed. I’d recommend this product to anyone that you know, wants a skull in there tank or whatever. One thing I would keep in mind though, is the size. I have a 30 x 12 terrarium and it looks great but with a smaller tank I’d worry about this thing taking up a lot of room.

Looks amazing, great product. The size of this product is good for small or young reptiles: “Eyelash” Crested Geckos, Gargoyle Geckos, Leopard Geckos and reptiles of similar or smaller size. Eye sockets and under the cheek bones provide small entry points, a “broken” hole on the back of the skull provides a larger entry point. The interior is very spacious. The exterior is rough but safe, the interior has sharp edges where the material curves inwards – making a possible hazard for softer skinned reptiles – but can be fixed easily by sanding down to soften the edges. I would not recommend placing this item into an enclosure before softening the edges. Besides the easily remedied issue, I love this item.

It looks good, but the inside edges where still very sharp from the mold, i assume, so i had to sand down the insides myself. This was a pretty big issue as it was sharp enough to draw blood from my finger by running it along the inside edge. The other thing is i have a full grown king snake and i already was a bit smaller than i thought, but he has a very difficult time getting into the eye and avoids it almost completely now after a few squeezes. it also doesn’t have the weight to keep it from being dragged around by a bigger snake. all in all, its fine, but definitely not a permanent addition to the tank. your pet will eventually out grow it, or find it too unstable to use appropriately. Best use i could see is just for enrichment as it has a different texture to other things but then again, there is better enrichment out there.
would i buy this had i known all this? no, i wouldn’t have.
Would i buy this for a smaller snake/pet? not really. it’ll just get outgrown.

i got this for my year old ball python she’s already pretty decent size and she loves it(i dont speak snake but i see her on it a lot). i notice many people saying the edges were sharp inside the skull, i see why that could be an issue but at least in my item they weren’t sharp(maybe they fixed it) anyways nothing a little sand paper cant fix. SOMETHING to note is that this doesn’t replace the cave or small shelter your snake always goes to for sleep or hide for protection. i placed the skull next to her cave and she goes in and out the eyes, REALLY COOL! but at the end she goes back in her cave to sleep, so im guessing this doesn’t work as a shelter but they feel some what safe in it or at least my snake loves it. makes the snake more active and something else for her to play on. what ever can make her a little happier works for me. also recommend adding fake vines to the tank they really enjoy climbing and it would cost no more than 2$ at the dollar store.

The detail and products used to make this skull décor are fantastic! Very lifelike! It also has enough weight to it to support my 4month old Ball Python curling up on top of it without tipping her and the skull over.

The eye sockets roughly measure 19mm X 15mm (that’s 19mm long by 15mm tall). Keep this in mind if you’re looking at this for your snake to look badass slithering in and out of the eye sockets! 🙂
In response to others reviewers who say there are a few sharp points on this skull, I personally only found one point on my skull that I deemed sharp enough to needing to be sanded down a bit. I actually just picked at the tip with my nail and didn’t need to sand it. Even if I found a few sharp edges I wouldn’t deduct stars on this product. This product can EASILY be filed down with a nail filer (or even picked at with your fingernail) to fit your definition of dull.
