This specific product gave me one huge headache. Exoterra makes great products along with Zoomed, this however was a defective product. Defective fill height sensor causes entire product to fail. Only once i ordered a new one did i find out his one had several “odd” things about it. First it had a hole in the bottom of the fill height sensor thas was NEVER meant to be on the unit. Second it had a strange number punched into the bottom of it like it had been inspected, stamped, and discarded once before or sent back to be refurbished once already. I have since purchased 3 other ultrasonic foggers by exterra and none had the stamped number osr the hole in the fill sensor.Third and lastly, the unit had scuffs on it where the diaphragm had been taken out and replaced with a specific key tool which further prooves that this certain unit from this certain seller was used and in poor (non-working) condition, not new like the seller stated.

Very tall container (meaning deep and slender) with a top and a holes just big enough for wire and steam to come out. It grows calcium really fast so use DISTILLED WATER. And if the water goes below the high bar thing, it burns out. Mine didn’t last longer than a month or two. Kind of a mess to deal with

Tends to burn out fairly quickly and the water can get very hot if left on all the time. I put mine on a timer which greatly improved the water temperature and life of the fogger.

I love the fogger for my iguana but it has to be in a certain amount of water and you havet to buy replacement parts for it once a year but worth it if you have the rock waterfall set up for it and great for tropical lizzards that like high humidity.

When I first got my terrarium, I knew I had to have a great focal point. So naturally, I got the medium waterfall and was please that it had a fogger option. Amazon.com to the rescue! I purchased the Mini Fogger unit, received it in 2 days and finished setting up my terrarium. I LOVE IT! My terrarium is setup in the main entry way so when I have guests over they all notice the terrarium with the fog rolling out of the water fall. PLUS, it definitely helps keep the humidity up and my snakes have a natural like habitat they enjoy. 🙂 However, there is a small downside. Because the water here is hard water full of mineral deposits, I did have to change the ceramic piece (the fog maker piece) rather soon. I started using filter water and am hoping it will last longer than 8+ hrs/day for a month. I would still recommend this product.

Purchased this item and it works very well for its size. I used it in a terrarium about 3×2 size. It even has a tiny red LED light so when placed in a cave or crevice, it illuminates it red. It kept the humidity where it needed to be for my Chinese Water Dragon. Every so often though, the thing would quit working and I would have to unplug it for a while a
and plug it back in. I don’t think it’s meant for continuous use, so maybe putting it on a timer or something would help. Also because it uses ultrasonic frequencies to make the water fog, I would have to refill the water in the tank often.

It looks great when it works. I’ve already been through one diaphragm and the only thing I’ll give it is that the diaphragm was easy to replace. The fact that I’ve gone through one diaphragm and I’ve only had the fogger two months doesn’t leave me optimistic. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find a fogger that will fit inside the waterfall.
Update: After six months of use, the fogger finally quit. The first indicator was the fact that the red light was flickering. All together I went through two diaphragms, three if you count the very last one I replaced thinking that was the problem. I do not know if I contributed to the problem as the fogger does drain the waterfall much faster than expected and sometimes the waterfall would end up dry. Again, I have yet to find a suitable replacement so I will be purchasing another one to see if being more diligent about the water level will help but right now my guess is no.
