For years, I owned a different brand laminator that worked really well. So when it died, I replaced it with a newer one of the same brand. BIG mistake! The quality wasn’t there anymore – lots of problems with the adherence of the plastic to the paper, especially once the page was cut into smaller pieces.
Back to the drawing board. Read a LOT of reviews.
Finally decided to give the Fellowes Laminator Jupitor 2 125 a try.
The machine is noticeably heavier than the ones I have owned before and it heats up very quickly.
It detects the thickness automatically and adjusts the speed accordingly.
It does an excellent job. It is fast. The adherence is flawless.
The starting kit includes a “roll cleaner page” that you should feed through the machine before turning it off. It also includes about 10 x 3ml pouches.

I am very happy with this product and hope it will serve me for many years.

We purchased this Fellowes Venus 2 approximately 6 years ago and had to replace it. We threw a lot of laminates at this machine and it finally gave out. Purchasing another one for hopefully 6 more years of trouble-free laminating.

Out of the box it never warmed up. The power came on and made a bad clicking noise, never got hot. Worked through trouble shooting, contacted tech support chat with no resolution.
Returned and got SINCHI PRO Lami F3410 – very good product, lighter, less bulky and…. laminates!

Bought this to laminate 11×17 restaurant menus. It’s much more expensive than your standard laminator, but it’s essentially the only large format laminator that is capable of handling card stock in 10mil pouches, so we bit the bullet.

What we weren’t expecting was just how easy this thing is to use and how ridiculously quick it heats up. No buttons, settings, etc. Just plug it in, turn it on, wait a few seconds, and you’re ready to feed product through. 10mil pouches, 3mil pouches, everything, paper width, it adjusts to everything automatically. It’s simple enough for just about anybody to operate.

The only real downsides are that it’s got a relatively large footprint and it takes a good 15mins to completely cool down after use. But other than that, no complaints at all. Highly recommended.

The media could not be loaded.

I bought this laminator for our ”Home Command Center”, which is essentially the designated area in our house where the kids schedules are, school information, to-do lists, and anything pertaining to organizing our family of 6. Although our household is gradually transitioning to a paperless approach via a digital filing cabinet system, having schedules, tasks lists, and event information hung around the house is a must, especially with small children.

So, laminating schedules and printable calendars for example, is a great way to not only protect papers from sticky fingers, but also to transform certain documents and forms into re-usable versions with the help of dry-erase markers.

I bought this laminator back in the early fall of 2022, and have been using it on a daily-basis ever since. I specifically chose this model because it could laminate hot pouches up to 10-mil thick, compared to the more basic, standard laminators that have the capacity of 3-5mil at most. I love the fact that it automatically adjusts to the pouch thickness, without the need of constantly having to fine-tune the settings in between projects. I’ve used it to preserve kids artwork, to create my own reusable stickers, for making kids token boards, and visual schedules…just to name a few. Plus, the auto shut-off prevents it from overheating in case I forget to turn it off.

My starter kit came with 10 x Fellowes 3mil pockets and a cleaning sheet for the rollers. In the instructions, the manufacturer does state that : ”for best results, clean rollers at the end of each lamination session”.

Operating it couldn’t be any simpler. Just place the items properly inside the pouch; making sure that the item is snug, against the sealed edge. When the laminator is ready, simply insert the pouch (”sealed end” first) and the machine will do the rest. In case I inadvertently misfeed the pouches (at an angle instead of straight), the laminator kicks into reverse mode, allowing me to correct the positioning or re-center the pouches. But I always make sure to feed the pockets in gently and slowly, as opposed to force feeding them into the laminator. And to this day, I haven’t had any jamming issues.

At the end of the day, this laminator does its job, and it does it well. It does take up quite a bit of counter / desk space, especially while in use (the back of the laminator needs to be clear of any objects so that the laminated sheets can properly slide out onto the rear tray). So, the space you have available and this laminator’s dimensions definitely need to be factored in before buying.

An excellent addition to our home and a great purchase. Would definitely recommend.

We haven’t had this item that long, but the laminating we’ve done has come out perfect. It heats up fast and pulls items through reasonably quickly.

Cons: Every so often, when laminating in bulk, it will pull one of the projects through a little too quickly and that one will be completed with slightly lower quality than the others. However, that might be user error – maybe we’re feeding one through before the previous is completely finished. Not sure.

Also, I scoured the instructions and couldn’t find anywhere a note on using a carrier for heated laminating – I wish it said whether you need one or not.

Those two points aside, this laminator is quick and efficient.

    Update – 5/2/19:

We’ve had this laminator almost a year, now, and have really put it through its paces. We send out 11″ x 17″ marketing materials and have made about 300 of them since we bought this laminator. Even the issue I mentioned earlier about it intermittently pulling an item through too quickly has stopped, so that must have been user error. Some people dislike the cool-down time, but it’s not a con for us. We just switch the unit off and walk away. Also, we’ve been feeding items through on the hot setting without a carrier and have had no issues. Very pleased with this purchase.

Like the headline says, my laminator was used heavily by multiple teachers on my hall over the last 8 years. The heating element has finally gone out. I am going to see if my husband can fix it, but in the meantime, the department is purchasing another one of these!

The reverse feature on these comes in really handy. So does the automatic sensor for the pouch thickness. It allows for even lamination of those construction paper creations. The little platform on the back is great for preventing curling.

This laminator does everything it’s supposed to do, and does it well. It heats up quickly. It accepts sheets up to 10 mil thick. The controls are simple and easy to use. Laminating speed is quick. But be aware this isn’t your typical light-duty home laminator. It’s HUGE – just under 2 feet wide, and with the exit tray attached, over a foot deep. And it’s HEAVY – 15 pounds. Works like a champ, but built like a tank.

We love this little laminator. It replaced a Venus also from Fellowes. The Venus was just beginning to run a little slow but we have been happy with it. This Jupiter 2 is definitely faster with 3 mil lamin (still slow on the 5 mil) but has a nice anti-jam feature that ensures less lost time with hang ups. There are however, 2 annoying things: When running- and its only been a couple of weeks so far- there is an awful smell. We’re hoping this goes away over time but in our small office we have to open the doors and windows or someone complains. (Previous laminators did not make this smell) And when you are finished the recommended procedure is to tap the power button which makes the light begin to “pulse” rather than be on steady. This is the only indication that the machine is going into power down mode. The rollers continue to turn and make noise as the unit cools…eventually (like up to 30 minutes later) the unit turns itself off. Ive found that I have to put a note on the machine so that people know that it needs time to run and cool off before it turns off. Helpful coworkers are always unplugging the unit while it is still hot because they think someone walked off and left it running.
Over all I am pleased with the purchase.

Amazing product. Can finally make covers for my planners. Same quality you would get from Erin Condren planner covers! Took the EC free phone wallpapers and made some covers for my disc planners 🙂

Muy buen producto, tarda un minuto es funcionar.

Enmica muy bien y muy rápido, el foil lo pega muy bien; con solo una pasada tiene.

Un poco tosca a mi gusto. Pero excelente producto.
