Let me tell you about these guitar strings. Got them awhile back and stuck them in my backpack and forgot about them… Long story long, I went camping in Yellowstone with a few buddies and we all happened to be chased by a bear. We scattered up, separated and I got lost. Three weeks later I had no supplies left. The only things in my backpack were a flashlight who’s batteries were dying… Much like my own… A couple of fishing flies and a can opener. And oh yeah… Those darn guitar strings!
Anyhow, short story brief, I tied them all together, put a fly on the end and caught an 18lb steelhead rainbow sockeye trout… Amazing! So with my batteries recharged I was able to use my trusty ole buck knife to carve and fashion a rudimentary guitar… I strung it up and strummed a few chords and it sounded like a gift from heaven. I played and played, really got into the zone, riffing this, riffing that, I named it whiffle ball bat…
Don’t really know how long I was playing but it seemed like ages… Afterwhile a group of Native Americans showed up and saved me. They were fascinated by my instrument and the sounds coming from them. They started dancing feverishly and singing their own songs to my beats. It was out of this world!!! Finally made it back to civilization and marked myself safe from the Amazon.
Needless to say these are the greatest guitar strings I have ever bought… 5 Stars

Put them on my Yamaha FS800. Noticeably clear and robust sound. Exceptionally smooth on the fingers (not as grippy as some and very little string noise). This is pretty amazing for a non-coated string. Rating the longevity will have to wait as this is the first time, I am trying them. Overall, I was very satisfied with the feel and sound. I’ll be using them again!

I’ve never bought guitar strings before until I bought these Fender guitar strings. I don’t have experience in
choosing guitar strings but someone gave me a set of DR strings in May 2022 so I can only really compare these Fender strings to those strings. The DR guitar strings I believe were lighter and a bit easier to press against the fretboard to play. Also it seems like this Fender low E string, and maybe one more of them make more noise against the frets when they’re played, or touched than the DR strings did. The DR strings were maybe a little bit quieter than these Fender strings. However, I don’t have any problems with these strings as they seem to do the job well. So overall I think that they’re pretty good. I hope that you’ve found this review helpful. Thanks.

This is a review of the 12-52 gauge Fender 80/20 Acoustic strings. I play mostly electric guitar and bought and restored a beautiful old Kay Archtop Jumbo guitar (50’s/60’s vintage) and tried these on it. The scale length is 25.5 and as I started to tune to normal EADGBE the tension was was much too much for me. I didn’t get to full intonation before giving up – to taught, too much tension on the neck, too hard to play. I was going to send them back and then decided to try the lower Baritone tuning BEADF#B. I was delighted that the strings retained a comfortable tension, did not buzz, and felt and sounded bright and full as they resonated in the large Jumbo body. Tuning lower to A didn’t work, things felt and sounded loose. But the standard Baritone tuning was the answer, I now have a baritone tuned guitar to pull out when I want to go with that sound. So, I can report that on a 25.5 scale guitar they should get you to the lower tuning if that’s your thing.

This is the first set of 10’s I’ve used on an acoustic. I use 10’s on a mid-depth Ovation, 11’s on a deep bowl Ovation in Eb, and 12’s on a dreadnaught in D; I’ve always used EJ16 strings. 10’s are awesome if you play a lot of electric, which I do. You can really bend up the notes and I didn’t loose any depth of sound. I don’t like the 80/20…I’ll stick with Phosphor Bronze. I put Earthwood 11’s (phosphor bronze) on at the same time I put these (80/20) on my other guitar and these are dead of sound, yet still the bronze is shiny as if they were new. The 11’s are just as old and used but still ring out beautifully. I hate them super bright when first changed but that’s all stirings. If you like 80/20 over the other types give these a shot. They are less expensive for a reason. I’m going back to Phosphor Bronze, which Fender makes 10’s in (60XL?).
