I think they help with the Hendrix tones and I always like to play fender lights anyhow so it’s a win win.

Great rich tone

These are good quality strings, easy to restring.
Darren Waters –
This custom set is excellent, the balance between the strings make for really great feeling bends and they sound really great.

These strings are advertised as heavy top/light bottom but that is not the real story. If you play lead guitar for any amount of time you will certainly notice the lack of balance between the G string and the B and e strings. No matter what you do to the pickup poles (if you have adjustable pole pieces) the G sounds louder and thicker than the B and e. This set alleviates that problem by using a 15 for the G and 13 and 10 (normal 10 set sizes) for the B and e. In addition to fixing that balance problem the light G string makes the double stop bend on the 2nd fret of the G (like on the intro to Already Gone by the Eagles) much more controllable. In other words, you don’t have to push so hard that you make the B go out of tune. On the other side of the string set, the much smaller E string fixes the imbalance (and “boominess”) of the E string when compared to the A and D. The smaller sizes of the E, A, and D also makes them match better with the G, B, and e strings.
If you play mostly rhythm, either cowboy chords or barre chords, this set probably won’t help you out that much, although they’re fine for Motown chords. I bought 3 sets to try out. I put a set on one of my practice guitars, ran through Sultans of Swing and the solos in Hotel California, put my guitar down, sat down at my computer, and immediately ordered 6 more sets. I have no idea how durable these strings are but I’ve played Fenders in the past and been very happy with them. I’m more concerned about tone and sound than I am about durability.
If, as Fender says, these are the string gauges that Hendrix used, then I have even more respect for him than I did (which was already a considerable amount).

being that I know nothing about strings I found myself in need of replacement ones for my off brand guitar, so I basically got them cos I was familiar with the brand and took a chance. Wow, sound is loud and smooth, like I said I’m a beginner and makes me sound like I know what I’m doing, even with the guitar off. I was afraid of stretching them , they are somewhat elastic but they reached the notes even when I accidently went an active higher, with no issues on the tone. The color coating really helped when restricting and took just about a minute to get them all through. I am curious as to how long before I have to replace them. I’m not as careful when I play so I tend to play (sort of) rough and heavy, but as of right now they are the best sounding and best quality from a familiar trusted brand. highly recommend.

La risposta tonale è eccellente, tuttavia occorrerà valutarne la durata.

I like them. The all nickel ones give a warm tone. They weren’t just fun to try. I actually bought more. The only bad thing about them is you are going to need a pretty high action if you don’t want fret buzz from the thin low E string. If you like thin strings, high actions or don’t mind fret buzz these are for you. Also be ready to do quite a bit of tremolo adjusting if you have a strat type guitar due to the gauges. Maybe it’s just the nostalgia thing that makes playing the same strings as Jimmy so fun. Definitely different and worth a try. I personally will just use them for a change of pace here and there I think. Definitely won’t be keeping them on there all the time.
Edit: I’m currently using these again. Having fun with the nostalgia. Even though it’s before my time. I have a theory. Be ready to have your mind blown. Jimi may not have played these for tone or bending. Heavy on one side. Light on the other. He did it to more closely match the nut on his upside down right handed guitar! That’s my theory. And it makes more since than all the rest I’ve heard. Are you mind blown hearing that?

These are just amazing! I’ve been playing my guitar for years but without any sound coming through to the amplifier and then I put these on to the guitar and hey presto, sound!!
I can now play all the songs I know!

I have been ordering this brand for my child for their guitars. My child is happy with the string quality & fit fine on their guitars.

The string gauges on these are def weird but so far they aren’t bad. I just installed them yesterday and I’m trying to find the right strings for me and love Hendrix so of course I purchased these. They sound pretty good and are easy to play with and for bending. So far they are staying in tune good and the brightness is there but not overkill at least I think. Solid quality didn’t have any problems when winding them up. They are a good price and I will maybe purchase some more if I decide these are the ones.

Fender brings back the “Rock n Roll” gauge strings Hendrix, Duane Allman and so many others used in the late 60s-70s.
.010, .013, .015, .026, .032, .038
Twang, blues, doom and many more styles work well with these.
Pure Nickel again too, just like the olden days.
