Clear instructions and easy to follow. Every parent or carer should read this thoroughly especially the part about a child choking.

I bought this book for my daughter as she is expecting her first baby. The book is simple to use and doesn’t confuse you with too much information. It just gives clear instructions for a variety of problems. I’d recommend this as a quick reference quide. You don’t have time to read a lot during an emergency and this gives the answers you need there and then.

An older version of this book used to be one of my favorite childhood books due to the clear and understandable illustrations. I was totally fascinated by them then, and am thrilled to find a version for kindle all these years later. Even if you already have a first-aid book, this book is worth buying as a communication tool. It really help to reassure a child when you can show them what youāre going to do to help them feel better.

DK Publishing has high standards, and this how-to guide meets them all. It is well organized, simply written, and clearly illustrated so you can take appropriate action even in an emergency situation.
Every parent, grandparent, and day care provider needs to have a copy at hand. I bought several: for the house, the car, the stroller. I could not recommend it more highly, and as a grandparent, I hope I never have to use it.

The explanations and instructions given are clear, concise, and accompanied by photos. I wish Iād had a resource like this when my kids were little; Iām buying another copy for my daughter who now has two little ones of her own.

Comprehensive and packed with information. From dealing with a simple graze to possibly saving a life. A good companion

We really like this and it is very useful to use for basic things that can go wrong. Only negative is that some of the things can be explained a bit better and information is scattered around and a bit difficult to find. But would recommend

Being a new parent means being constantly concerned about my child’s safety. So I wanted a book on hand with quick instructions just in case something happens. This book has easy instructions and great pictures that are easy to understand. As others wrote, some things, like CPR, have changed. But there are great YouTube videos for that as well as instructions online.

After my 13 month son choked (he’s ok) on some food and my husband and I realized we needed a refresher on some basic first aid we bought this book. I absolutely love it. I love how simple and easy it is to understand. I’m a visual person and the pictures are fantastic. I even bought this for my 12 year old niece and 6 year old nephew. I highly recommend this book.

For a first time mum away from family, who wanted some quick reference: signs and symptoms to look out for in their newborn, and when not to panic.
She found it a helpful reference, being able to clearly identify symptoms to the doctor without feeling she was being over anxious about her baby.

This book is simple to use in a crisis and to avoid parental brain lock, should be read cover to cover BEFORE a crisis. It covers the most likely accidents that can happen with pictures throughout and a clear rapid index for emergencies. Highly recommended.

This was a gift for a friend expecting her first baby soon. The pages are nice heavy glossy paper, the photos are not too small and give really good idea of proper steps to take along with the typed instructions beside each. Would be nice to have for yourself if you have small children or makes a very thoughtful and helpful gift to a new parent.
