William Quinones –
I’ve been buying black silk filaments for the past 6 months as I like the way it looks to the regular black filament but this brand of silk black is just gorgeous and it’s looks even more black than some of the others I’ve bought in the past. I like that it prints shiny and silky in a nice black color, where others look more grayish. So I now have a new favorite brand.

The media could not be loaded.
This is the third time this has happened to me on three different spools. I thought the first time was a fluke, since I liked the quality of the print, I purchased more. Well two more rolls the same thing. (See video). This is causing delays getting jobs out. I am returning and need to find another brand.

Very fragile, the worst I’ve tried so far.
Roger Perkins –
Not horrible filament, but pretty fragile. It prints well, has good adhesion, and looks pretty good, but it’s use case is limited. Even the sturdiest flexi joint will crumble with this stuff. It’s brittle fragility also means you can’t make anything functional. Great for decorative stuff but that’s about it.
Roger Perkins –
This Silky Black filament has a rich, lustrous color and highlights that look almost metallic, like pewter or titanium.
It prints like a dream, with excellent bed adhesion, very uniform flow, and zero stringing.
However, I have found that printed parts are brittle. I would not use for structural prints.
The winding was perfect.
This filament is an excellent value. for prints which prioritize appearance over strength.

Prints great and has a nice sheen

The diameter is consistent and within specs, it has nice clean, even spooling. The cardboard spool is a bit of a bummer for using in an Bambu Lab AMS since the spool is oversized and will barely fit. There isn’t any clearance around it to put a adaptor ring on it, so I just used liquid electrical tape to seal the edges & that worked just fine with my stock AMS set up.
The roll I got arrived with the vacuum intact, and it printed fine without having to dry it first. The humidity is almost alway at least 70%, so watching for brittle filament and drying it before printing is something I often have to do.
It print fine on my X1C using the Generic PLA Silk settings, it’s a nice rich black and decently shiny.
The bed adherence on a clean PEI sheet was a bit too strong! It was like trying to get TPU off. In the future, I will try both using glue stick to hopefully get it to release better after it’s cooled and lowering the bed temp.

I’m all for more accessible and cheaper filament, but the printing wasn’t as reliable as others I have tried. I noticed there was some dust in the filament even after being freshly opened.
I used up 3/4 of the roll till it clogged my A1 mini. I hope this is just my case because the filament itself is really nice to the eye. It had great adhesion and printed reliably when it worked.
Overall, for the price I’d recommend it.
