*Totally Independent review-no reimbursements or comp. Also, **”hippocampus” in the description sounds like they’re including brain parts, lol! This actually means sea horse — I think they need to hire a better translator. PLEASE let me know if you find this helpful, I spend way too much time on reviews trying to help other parents, my hubby says it’s a problem 😂.
I bought these because our usual go-to animals didn’t arrive (thanks again, USPS, for ruining my kid’s party) but I’m glad we found these. They’re not what I wanted but they ended up working. Here’s what I liked (and please bear in mind the blue piranha in video is NOT part of the set).
✅ Colors are fairly vibrant, paint is even relatively accurate, rare for the “cheap” animals.
✅ Good variety. Not what was pictured entirely, but good enough.
✅ Impressively detailed for such a small item.
✅ Kids fought over who got to play with them, so that’s a sign they’re interesting! 😄
✅ Not HARD plastic like dollar-store fish. They’re just bendy enough!
My favorite part is that when they’re all lost, it’s not going to cost me an arm and a leg to get another set.
What I didn’t like:
❌ Didn’t receive advertised number.
❌ Only got 3 of the ones we were hoping for! Ah well, can’t will them all.
❌ Kids should not be left alone with them. Choking hazard is real with this one!! (Maybe that’s not a “con” but needs to be noted – they are not all 2”, some are 1/2”.
If you’re looking for a cost-effective way to keep the kiddos occupied, educate them on ocean animals, practice difficult pronunciation, or use them as decor or rewards, I’d recommend this set as long as your expectations aren’t too high.
