The very first fish I caught was a 21”, 4-3/4 lb smallmouth . I am sure there will be more to come. I use with a vertically-sitting Ned rig jig

I will start by saying, I never decide a rating on lures based on if they catch fish or not. Sometimes fish just won’t bit, other times they will go after a hook.
I am a big wacky rig guy. Kits like this always excite me. This one does not seem much different than many of the other kits.
You get 4 worms, which were the most surprising. I like the variety of colors. There is a watermelon like color, not sure what to call the orange but it’s rather translucent, black with red and blue flake, and finally like a junebug type color. The darker colors are all tried and true. The orange color is new to me. I am not 100 percent sold that fish actually care about colors but who knows. I asked a bass that I caught once but he did not answer. These are rather hard for soft plastics which should help with durability. I was a bit out off that there was no smells on thses. But then I realized that I actually like it because I can use my own.
Speaking of durability, the o rings are the way to go. From experience, you get many more mile when you don’t have the hook to rip the worm apart. I have always seem the tool as a luxury but do like them. You can put the iring on without them but it definitely makes it easier.
The through the nose weights are what you would expect. Some are a bit bent and could cause an issue with them coming out of the side. The hooks seem sharp enough. I am not a person that believe hooks are the end all be all. Size is much more important to me so it is nice that you get 2 to choose from.
The storage is the most disappointing part of the whole thing. When I opened it there was stuff everywhere. The weights and hooks were in all of the compartments. This is not a big deal because I don’t plan to keep them in the storage container.
I give this the Veal stamp of approval. I would recommend this to any beginner or the people that I like or are not bass fishing purist.
For what it’s worth –
You never get a second chance to make a first impression. When I opened the mailing envelope, there were a few o-rings and weights that had escaped from the box in the bottom of the envelope. Seeing that made me concerned about the quality of the products that I hadn’t even seen yet!
If you fish senko-type worms, there is no question that this gives you a lot for the money. I haven’t tried them yet (waiting for a nice day to get on the lake!) but the worms, weights, hooks, etc., all appear to be solidly made, but…the cheap plastic box they came in is not impressive. The worms had their own slots in the box, but everything else was stuffed into one slot. And because the box didn’t close securely, some of the smaller things escaped through the lid. Again, everything in the box looks pretty good, but it would have been so much nicer if used a better box that separated out everything. It may sound petty, but I organize my tackle so I can find things easily, and this presentation did not impress me. I’m hoping the tackle works a lot better than the box it came in!

Rigged some of these and was messing with some bass up close on the bank in clear water so I could see what they did. Bounced it a couple times near one and it was curious at first so bounced one more time and let the claws float up and bam, it but down pretty good. I think these will work for me.
