R. Elliott –
I’ve wanted a case for some time now for a cheap SG I bought a couple of years ago, but I did not want to spend even $129 to protect my $199 (+upgrades) guitar, and certainly not $200+. Even $89 is too much, but if you look around at used gear sites, you either have to drive to another state, or pay enough in shipping that even a reasonably priced used case would wind up being more than you’d spend on something like this, so I figured I’d give it a try. I could have gone the “gig bag” route and gotten one of those for like $39-$49, but this caught my eye and I wanted to see what the quality was like (I also tend to buy cases more with the idea of cross-country travel in mind for when I move, than ease of squeezing it into a vehicle or carrying it on a bus for a gig).
I went with the wooden case for the SG, which as of the writing of this review, no longer appears to be available, and all the other cases are significantly more than what I paid for the SG case – I don’t know if they were just more expensive to begin with, or the prices have gone up. At that price though, I wouldn’t have bought it. However, the quality seems decent. I’ve bought other cases from more well-known brands for about this price that were not as good. Both the exterior and the interior look nice, and there just aren’t a lot of (or any) defects that I can identify, which is not often the case at this price. On the other hand, the fit is not great, particularly around the body, top-to-bottom. It’s not perfect side-to-side either, but it definitely slides around “up and down”. I thought maybe it was the fact that this guitar is just about the cheapest of the cheap Epiphones, but I threw my Tribute in there to check and no, it’s the case. The other thing I don’t like is the size of the logo plate. There may be some people who desperately want to advertise, “I’ve got a Ghostfire!”, but I could do with a smaller logo plate. Fortunately it’s screwed in, so you can easily either take it off entirely, or flip it to the blank side (or of course, cover it with a sticker).

I bought this as it was the cheapest SG specific case I could find. It also looked nice in the product photos. Well, it didn’t disappoint. Really nice case for the money. My only problems are the shipping took forever, and it seems that I bought the last one. I was going to buy another as I have SG guitars to put into cases. I bought one to test, but now there are no more left. Hope more come back in stock one day.
Amazon Customer –
I purchased this case to store my strat copy. The fit is good with about 1″ wiggle room at the bottom of the body. It also fits my Matthew Bellamy Signature guitar and my Cort KX300 – both with that same 1″ wiggle. This is a nice case, well built and visually a real looker. HOWEVER, my strat has a tremolo bar… the accessory storage space is WAY too small and the bar is too long for the pocket. Not even close. This is a serious error in the case design. If all you want to store in the case are some picks, spare strings and a capo, you will be fine. Otherwise, you will be disappointed. If they made the accessory storage larger, I would rate this case a 5 without hesitation. Quality wise this seems to be an excellent case.

Seems quite sturdy, the clasps seem solid and hold the lid tightly closed. An Epiphone SG fit great.

Bought this for an inexpensive but great looking/playing/sounding Fojill FLP-90 guitar. The guitar fits inside the case just fine, as does my Epiphone LP, but when closed both guitars are free to rattle/move from front to back (top to bottom if case is laying flat). Put Fojill in original Epi case, no rattle. Two differences are evident in the cases. The Ghostfire is maybe 1/4″ thicker front to back, and the back paddingis only half the thickness of the Epi case. Used a piece of poly-foam from the Fojill shipping box wrapped in a piece of flannel blanket to add padding before returning guitar to case. Tried both guitars again in the new case – no more loose rattle. Problem solved. Hope Ghostfire will take note and use a full one inch pad in future models of the case. I like everything else about the case, and I do recommend purchase if you want pretty fair protection for an LP so long as you dont mind having to add a bit of foam layer for snug fit. At less than $100.00 you really can’t ask for more or go wrong with Ghostfire.!

Product is nice! I’m very satisfied. Bought for
a gift I got for my granddaughters birthday and needed to fit for a guitar that I had already purchased. It fit like a glove! received in time. Very happy!

You’ll really be happy with this guitar case and; most likely, with any of this sellers’ products. Looks to me as though they really pay close attention to overall appearance / ‘Quality’ of their products. My opinion.

High quality , great price and fast shipping. I would recomend it for a Gibson or Epiphone SG .
