GoPro HERO9 Black Waterproof Action Camera

I bought this to mount onto my helmet so I could record while riding my motorcycle. Everything has been going perfect so far. It’s easy to understand and interact with it. I use mine twice a day, (on my way to work and then on my ride back home. ) and I haven’t encountered any issues

I decided to get one for my wife as a gift for our anniversary because a friend of ours has one and he absolutely loves it and I couldn’t believe the video & image quality, all the features, and just how small and portable it is! The problem that I ran into was that I figured I’d save a bit of money and get one that had been returned. It was labeled “Used-Good Condition” but when it arrived, both screens flickered but never actually turned on and it was missing the battery door! I wasn’t thrilled considering our anniversary was a few days away but I returned it and had it credited to my gift card balance to put towards another one. This time I thought, “If I get one that’s “Used-Like New Condition”, surely it will be fine!”. It wasn’t fine. The screens worked this time around and it was in great condition but it wouldn’t stay on for than 5 seconds no matter if you had it plug in, had a fully charged battery, etc.! So moral of the story just buy a new one.

My venture into the world of action cameras led me to acquire the GoPro HERO9 Black. The camera is a bundle of impressive features with a few caveats that are worth considering.

The HERO9’s video quality is nothing short of amazing. Shooting in 5K, I was able to capture the minute details of my mountain biking adventures with exceptional clarity. The image stabilization is a game-changer – it kept the footage smooth despite the rough terrain. Photos are equally impressive, thanks to the 20MP sensor. The colors are vivid, and the dynamic range is quite expansive, making for some professional-looking shots.

The dual-screen setup is a highlight. The front-facing LCD is a godsend for framing shots when you’re in selfie mode or vlogging. The rear touch screen is bright and responsive. However, I did notice that it can be a challenge to use with wet hands or when wearing gloves, which isn’t ideal for an action camera.

On the downside, the user interface didn’t meet my expectations. For newcomers to GoPro, the learning curve can be steep. The settings are extensive, which is great for customization but can be overwhelming. It often felt like I needed to push through too many screens to change a simple setting. GoPro’s user manual is there, but it lacks the depth required to navigate this complexity with ease. A more streamlined UI or a more comprehensive guide would make this less of an issue.

Battery life is another area where the HERO9 could improve. While it’s understandable that higher resolutions eat up more power, I didn’t anticipate needing to swap out batteries mid-activity so frequently. If you’re planning to use this camera for extended periods, especially in cold weather which further shortens battery life, additional batteries are a must.

The camera’s build quality is solid, and it has survived more than its fair share of knocks and drops. But, it tends to run hot, which had me worried about long-term durability, though it hasn’t presented any functional issues to date.

In terms of accessories, the mounting options are plentiful, but I found that some of the best mounts and mods are sold separately, which adds to the overall cost.

In conclusion, the GoPro HERO9 Black is a powerhouse capable of capturing breathtaking visuals. It’s built for the adventurers and the creators. However, be prepared to invest not only in additional batteries but also in the time to master its interface. If you can navigate these hurdles, you’ll find the HERO9 to be an invaluable addition to your gear collection.

Tenis una Gopro 10 que lqa usaba en mis viajes en motocicleta, y en un viaje se le rompió la base de plasmático ya no la encontré. Espese a buscar otra cámara y entre las opciones que tenia eran la 9 , 10, 11 y 12. Viendo varias reseñas de comparaciones de ventajas, desventajas y precios llegue a la concluir que la mejora opción para mi era la 9 por su relación vs precio y mis requerimientos. Tiene buena resolución y estabilidad.

My daughter got the camera for Christmas to use while skiing in the Rockies. The picture was great, easy to operate. With the additional battery that we also got, she was able to record both morning and afternoon on the hill. The picture was clear and stable.

Bought one and after successful testing bought a second. Does all that I hoped for and more. 2 cameras were better value than the “dedicated” video cams pushed by the SIM sellers.
Also bought a cheap mini video cam so now can link ‘down the line’ with ‘front-on’ and ‘overhead’ views to analyse all major swing details. Can also use my phone for ‘rear-view’ if required.
Really happy with this setup and currently building an all weather outdoor enclosure.

I knew nothing about the device but that I will learn how to make videos for my work. I opened the box and big surprise! No SD memory card included. device is not complete to start using it. Its like you buy a new car with completely empty gas tank and you need to uber to nearest gas station and get it. And looks like I need to buy one of Subscriptions prices between $30-100 . I feel like I was scammed big pro. Learning process on!
