Govee 50ft RGBIC Pathway Lights, 15 Pack

Don’t get me wrong these ground lights are cool and work great. Even though tiny, they can be very bright.

But first, they are tiny. I don’t know, I was expecting them to be a bit bigger. They have a neat design inside the tiny puck with an upside down cone with leds under that and an led in the middle on top. Problem is they are so tiny you don’t notice that cool design even from a little distance. They just look like a basic lighted puck.

They work perfectly with the Govee app as all Govee’s products do. And the app gives you lots of control from scheduling the lights with very extensive timers to letting you make your own light shows with a diy feature. And the Govee app is really a community which is awesome.

But lately Govee has really been dropping the ball on the preprogrammed light shows called Scenes. They were always really great at that feature. Now this is the second product I’ve gotten that has confused Scenes.

One i particularly like is Starry Sky. That was one of the first I tried. But it wasn’t Starry Sky. It was some flickering white and blue lights. Then trying the others I found one called Universe that is clearly Starry Sky.

To make matters worse it feels like they just aren’t trying anymore. I don’t know how many Scenes were just variations of blue and white flickering lights.

And so many were just too fast and busy for my taste. Govee finally added a way to change the speed of Scenes which was a feature many had long wanted. But instead of having a slider you can fine tune the speed with like many other light companies, Govee only offers two to five preset speed choices. Some scenes still have no speed option at all.

Again, I like the lights. They’re good lights. And if I wasn’t used to better Scene choices and Govee always having the scenes correctly assigned, I’d probably give these five stars. But with the scene name mistakes and so many scenes appearing the same and so many hyper speed with few or no speed choices, I don’t know, it feels rushed.

Just buy the they are awsome

Did not read the details and assumed only five lamps in 50’ string as picture. Not really what I wanted but will probably work better. Seem well sealed on inspection, hooked right up to WiFi, and went from subtlety dim to ridiculously bright settings on out of box test. Wanted to tie semi-unground pool into a deck project that already has other Govee lights I love. This was my 6th purchase of varrying Govee products and so far I’ve been very happy. I have installed all outdoor power supply’s and controls in water proof PVC junction boxes, a dab of silicone dielectric grease on connections, and have had zero issues over a year now. Other reviewers complained about the connectors between the 3 components of system. I see a way to replace a failed part without junking the whole thing. Had one or two issues with my first purchases but customer service corrected the issues immediately and then some. So give them a try before you dismiss the entire product line. App is great with more options than I will ever use. The automation section is very versatile. Will try to update with complete pic and installed impressions soon…..
Update- Still fine ground lights but not what I envisioned. I won’t bore you with pics that never relay the message. Try to describe but the light doesn’t diffuse like I was hoping. Looking for more subtle illumination. Set in crushed rock I lowered top of lens level with rock and helped tame the look of just a Led sitting on ground. Also doesn’t cast up as depicted in pics by fence. May be great for you or I bought the wrong product for my needs. The ground stakes are frustrating to install and I would see lamps getting knock off easily if in location contact would occur. Real reason I deducted the star is the scenes don’t match my other Govee string and flood lights. Example desert scene adds red where it is not present in string program. Kind of defeats my purpose of tying in area with my other lights for conformity. First world problems I know, but hope my ramblings help.
