I found these after a recommendation from a group I’m in on Facebook for parents of kids with autism. I placed them in my cart and never ordered them. One day I was taking a nap with my son and got woken up to a call from the police saying they found him with his tablet at the entrance of our neighborhood by the main highway. I was so traumatized by that experience that I immediately ordered these and they came the same day! I installed them right away and they definitely gave me an instant peace of mine! The instructions were easy to understand and the installation took all of 20 minutes to install both of them on my doors. The latch releases quickly but it takes a bit of skill to release it so it’s not easy to figure out. You will have to warn your older kids and visitors that it’s there and teach them how to release it in case of emergency. I was sure to install it as high as I can so that my clever 6 year old can’t reach it. If installed properly, you won’t be able to open the door no matter how hard you pull. It is extremely secure and my door won’t budge even a half inch with the latch on. I am forever grateful for products like these that keep our children safe and will be recommending this to other parents.
