If it would fit back in the box I would ship it back. It has no pre screwed holes you have to measure it all yourself and mark it. Its very flimsy and the pets were out of it chewed thru the bars in 10 min time. The only pet I would put in it is a guinea pig that can walk up the ramps everything else chews thru it. It also had to be washed off with a hose and detergent for the candle smell of it. It was like stored in a candle shop smelt horrible of perfume . everything about it is cheap painted wood like chew sticks flattened together to make a cage literally

I was a tad hesitant on buying this because we just bought a Syrian hamster. We bought a generic hamster cage but it seemed way to small. I spent 3 days trying to find one online that was big and with in budget. This one stuck out because it has FIVE floors!!! It’s skinny and tall and has 2 openings. Our hammy is in love with the home this set brings. Hairy Larry the hamster spent all night last night putting the bedding inside of the home to get all snuggled up. It’s actually really decent in size. The picture shown here is right after we assembled it so we’re going to do much more work on each floor. I put 3 stars for sturdiness… It’s sturdy for a hamster 100% but not for a human. Not like a sturdy chair or anything. I think because each of the wooden pieces are semi thin. It’s perfect for us because we’re not going to move the cage much unless we need to clean underneath it.
GREAT buy. Easy for the kids to open it so they can play with him more than asking me all the time to open their old cage. Also has a lock hole in case someone needs to lock it but ours is lock free.

If you have ferrets, don’t even for a second consider a cage setup other than this one. First of all it’s GORGEOUS. Looks like beautiful furniture in my room. Way better than a trashy tacky metal cage. It’s super easy to set up. It has so much room you can honestly fit 6 ferrets in it comfortably but I use it for the 2 that I have. I can’t even explain how much I love this cage. The doors on each level make life super easy. The small doors on the bottom are a godsend because I leave one of them open at all times and my ferrets free roam the house, go back to their cage to use the bathroom, then come back out and enjoy the house. They also voluntarily spend over half of their time in there sleeping rather than roaming the house because they love it in there so much they climb back up into it on their own all day. It’s the only place they’ll sleep which is on the upper levels and use the bathroom at the bottom. Each level is massive. A lot bigger than it looks online. I recommend putting a gerbil style water bottle on the bottom level and a food dish that can get wired onto the bottom level. It’s so big that I use a dog pee pad for half of the bottom and they poop right on it, then the other half of the bottom I have their food and water because they can be a mess with food. So.. do not buy the food and water bowls that have the bottom parts that need to attach through the cage. You’ll have to cut the cage wires and ruin it if you do. Instead do the water bottle where the spout fits in the wires from the outside, and get a bowl for the inside that is either attached by wire, or a very thin pin because the spacing of the wire is very small and you won’t want to ruin the cage by cutting any of it. I also recommend you buy about 6 pet beds for them for the insides of the houses and all the blank space on the platforms so they learn to poop on the bottom level only. The cage is so huge, they’ll go everywhere on all the corners of the levels if you don’t train them this way and take up the space. Anyways.. ferret nation cages look ghetto and this one is 10/10 amazing. Pick this one and don’t consider anything else.
Also I know this company makes a similar one with smaller platforms.. don’t get that one for ferrets. Landings are too small.

I bought this for my rats and it does a great job. Gives them lots of space to run around, I am able to pull out the tray easily for weekly cleans, and by not installing the top platform, I have room for two hanging hammocks at the top. The latches work well and are secure, and the wire spacing is very small, so you don’t need to worry about young rats squeezing their way out. Overall, the rats love this cage so I’m happy.
A few things to know before purchase (why my rating is 4 stars):
– The wire is thin, so if you’re concerned about a wire chewing critter, you may want to find a cage with more industrial wire. It’s clear that this wire is from a roll and although reliably attached to the wooden frame, it is not the same as a Critter Nation or anything wire based. My rats do chew on the wire, as all rodents do, but so far I’ve had no issues with them chewing through anything.
– The cage has wooden levels, ramps, and frame, thus expect your critter to chew it up! This isn’t necessarily a bad thing- it’s good for them to have a way to wear down their teeth. My rats have definitely chosen a corner of the bottom level to act as their chew toy. I’m not concerned about them chewing their way out of the cage or destroying it- it’s just good to know that your fur baby will probably cause some destruction, as it’s not a fully wire cage, and might make some noise at night while doing it if kept in your room!
-Quality is pretty good. It’s not as sturdy as a fully wire cage and the wood is a little rough to the touch and for soft. However, it’s not bad enough for me to feel taken advantage of. Overall it holds well, it’s design is great and I’m not worried of it falling apart at any point in time, but it’s definitely not the best I’ve ever seen
– The ramps are fit into carved spots for them, but aren’t securely attached. This isn’t a big deal, however just know your critter can knock them out of place if feeling frisky. I had originally put ramp covers on them to make them softer, but the rats kept trying to sleep inside the covers like a hammock, thus knocking the ramps down. Long story short, I just removed the covers and it was fine.
– The lip at the bottom is a few inches tall, so my rats are able to toss hay and shavings out of the cage at times. Nothing too terrible, just expect a quick vacuum around the cage will be needed each time you clean it
