Frank W –
This stand far exceeds the current model from Hamilton. It is good quality although not up to the standard set years ago. Excelent value for the price and easily handles large bore trombones.
K. Ev –
The stand is sturdy and solid. It holds a tenor trombone without too much sway. The rubber feet do a good job of protecting your hardwood flooring.
Adjusting the stand’s feet can be a pain because of stiff resistance, but not a deal-breaker. The serious flaw lies just below the bell support. The collar that holds the bell support is held in place by a small screw, which when tightened can crater the finish on the upper shaft. This can cause the collar to get stuck. This was the case with mine when it arrived. Minimal pressure can cause the cratering, making it difficult to adjust the collar. I’ve found myself in this predicament a few times already, so I avoid unnecessary adjustment.
This stand would have earned more stars from me if the bell-support collar had a thumb screw. The need for an allen wrench makes this stand less travel/commuter-friendly.
If you’re looking for a stand you will set up and leave alone, this stand will suit your needs well once you get past any initial setup difficulties.
Alex Stephenson –
The rubber dry rotted on my 20 year old Hamilton stand so I bought two new ones. For the money it’s hard to beat. If I get 20 years of service out of these I’ll feel like I got more than my money’s worth.
Eric K Jacobson –
Not the highest quality but definitely a great product for the price! All pieces fit well together, finish was nice and worked well for what it is meant for.
Jeff and Linda –
I use this in my studio. Simple and works well for me. I purchased the sock for each of these and like that as well. I find it to be stable enough for my small bore and large bore t-bones.
MT –
I like everything
Peter Gonzales –
Cheap I price bit not in quality.
Mike S. –
Solid and nearly indestructible. Held up for ears and still going strong. Slightly heavy but worth the weight. Nice wide base, holds a trombone very securely. Everything is adjustable.
