These storage boxes are very sturdy and great protection for my aunt’s favorite set of dishes that I inherited after she died. They have strong fabric handles on both sides. Very attractive, too. They are 10″ square which is perfect for my plates, which are 8 1/2″. They will hold much more than 12 plates, though, maybe even 20. There is about 4″ to spare. Not sure why they made the boxes so tall. But you can fill it up with smaller plates or bowls. There are only enough felt dividers for 12 plates. Somebody suggested using foam paper plates between them, though, which I thought was a good idea.
It would have been a bit more useful for my purpose if the boxes had a wipe-clean exterior instead of cloth since I will be storing these in the basement. I knew this before I bought them, but others I had seen with plastic exteriors did not seem to be as good quality as these, so I opted for quality. I will probably purchase a large plastic bin to store the boxes in.
Overall I am very happy with these containers, and I feel they were a good purchase. I definitely would recommend them.

This company still produces storage containers for china, extra pieces, and glassware as well as it did years ago. It is my go-to for storing anything we are not currently using.

This size holds large dinner plates. I have some square plates that wouldn’t fit in the largest round storage container for dishes and they fit fine in here. These plates are very heavy and it does not sag with the weight of the plates. However, I would not try to lift it from the handles…they don’t seem like they would hold up. Overall, just what I needed.

I really like these and have ordered them 3 times. I have the cream and brown and the red and green. They are great. If there was one thing I could change it would be the bottom. I’d love it if they would put a a strap (like the handle on the sides) all the way across the bottom. While there is a board inset for support, a very thin fabric is the only thing supporting the dishes. These are great but you MUST always put your hand on the bottom when you carry them. Only uses the handles for very light weight packages. I have all sizes and the serving piece box too. The serving piece package comes with quilted bags with velcro closures. The bags are very nice. The felt dish separators are good sized – not small and skimpy. I highly recommend these and I recommend you hold them from the bottom and not the handles. 🙂

I was looking for a way to store buffet dinner plates, appetizer plates and wine glasses. I purchased a storage chest for each.
I have to admit, I was a little wary because the price is SO reasonable, but when they arrived, I couldn’t be happier. It is a MUCH sturdier box than I expected. My plates are quite heavy, but they are completely supported in the boxes.
I love that they came with felt dividers as well. The wine boxes are fabulous too. I purchase both the goblet and the stemware boxes and everything fit perfectly. Plus, they look really nice in my closet too!
I was so happy with my initial purchase that yesterday, I just purchased two of the Plate Charger boxes as well.
This rates as one of my best purchases ever from Amazon – and I buy a lot from this place! 🙂

This chest for dinner plates is 8.5 inches tall by 11.75 x 11.75 inches inside square. My 10 3/8 inch Centura dinner plates fit in it with side room to spare. Twelve plates use about two-thirds of the chest depth. The chest arrives flat with a separate lid. Pull on the fabric side handles and the box frame opens like an accordian. Insert the base into the bottom of the box and its shape holds. The base and walls contain a hard board that is surrounded by a substantial polyester/cottom fabric. The hard board walls and lid are set at ninety degree angles that create strength and allow safe stacking, as with the salad plate sized chest that I also purchased. The fabric handles make carrying the chest easy, and the 25 pound weight limit seems accurate. I have 9 Centura and 3 other heavier plates in this chest weighting a total of 17 pounds. The case is stable under this weight. During household transport, plates inside do not touch the walls of this chest. Carrying plates is secure and certain, unlike with the soft quilt bags that I have, that require a sloppy grip through the bag, against the plates themselves, to get them to the table. The handles are riveted and will last. The polymer view window is a convenience to see what’s inside, but I hope the window material resists degradation over the years. This dinnerware chest is well thought out in design and is one of those products that exactly meets requirements. I recommend this storage chest.

After many years of allowing dust to gather on good china stacked on a closet shelf, I finally decided to find a better storage solution. Soon to move, it will be in a basement, again on a shelf, but now will be separated and protected. I purchased boxes for dinner, salad, soup, cups, saucers, goblet and charger sizes, and was able to store more than 12 items in most containers, even modifying some for things like butter dish and gravy boat.
Here’s the deal… the felt dividers are smallish for other than dinner plates, so I used the charger size for dinner dishes, then used ‘dinner felt’ for soup and salads, and ‘salad felt’ for bread and butter and sauce dishes, etc. Worked great! Even put serving bowls in with flat dishes. Be sure to measure yours.
The containers have nice solid sides, provide support and look good… do like that window. I think it best to support the bottoms when moving about, however, even though there are riveted handles. Better safe…
Fast delivery, good product, happy customer!
