After its arrival I opened the package and looked at the small cups, plates and bowls and was skeptical they would be useful. My wife, on the other hand, didn’t see a problem with the size, saying, you can always refill your bowl. She was right.
We have taken this out a couple of times, once while camping with another family. I was amazed at how many times somebody asked, do you have this, or that, and we dug through the kit and there it was!
Seriously, this kit does seem to have everything we needed. I also noticed the cups are lettered “A”, “B”, “C”, and “D”. That is a handy feature, for sure. As I mentioned, they are rather small, but guess what – I just refilled my cup!
As many readers will know, one can buy higher-end cook gear that is bigger, heavier (or lighter for backpacking), and will last decades. This is not that kit, nor is it offered at those premium prices. We own some of those higher-end kits and ended up using items from both the higher-end kits and from this kit during preparation, cooking and eating.
If you are looking for something that takes up very little room, and seems to have really pretty much everything you might need regardless of what you will be cooking, you should seriously consider this kit.
