This trumpet comes in a nice fabric-covered case that appears to protect the instrument quite well. It has several accessories with it as you can see from the image. The slides need to be worked to ensure the smoothness of their action. The keys function smoothly and the instrument sounds like what you’d expect from a B-flat trumpet. Overall, it will do a pretty good job for a new trumpeter if taken care of, and should last for years. Enjoy!

This starter trumpet looks like a professional trumpet, because it is high quality throughout. All of the brass is completely covered with shiny silver nickel plating, and it looks really good. The slides and drains are all high quality too. The carrying case is also really great, especially for the price point. With all these good things to say, why only four stars? Because of the sound. The valves were very sticky when I received the trumpet, and even with a couple of drops of oil, they still sound very rough. I thought they made so much noise, that I took a video and included it. I want to be clear about the video, it is only with two drops of oil in each valve, with the trumpet swirled to get the oil to spread around inside, and the plunger presses you see on the video, are the result. Not very good. I could not understand why such a fine looking trumpet would have such rough internal workings, so I took it apart. Inside, it had a film of dirt on the inner valve wall, and when I cleaned it, drenched it in oil, cleaned it again, and put a few more fresh drops of oil, it sounded OK. Over an hour worth of effort. That cost 1/2 a star. Next, I had a hard time with the mouthpiece that was provided, and by my own recollection from my youth, the cup was a bit shallow, so I ordered another mouthpiece, with a deeper cup, and viola! It sounded much better. Another 1/2 a star for having to provide my own mouthpiece. If the manufacturer would take more care with the valve internals, and polish and clean them more before deliver, along with including a better quality mouthpiece, they would have a five star trumpet, all the way. As it is today, however, with my needing to spend significant effort cleaning and buying a new mouthpiece, it is a:
Four Star Starter Trumpet that can be Five Star with another mouthpiece and some serious valve servicing.

There’s nothing the stands out “fancy” about this trumpet, but it seems like it would work well for a beginner. I don’t play the trumpet, but the buttons seemed to work okay… the middle one wanted to stick a bit but the more I used it the looser it got. If you already play, then I’d guess this wouldn’t impress, but it has a nice kit to get someone started.

This beginner trumpet set comes with everything you need (aside from sheet music). The mouth piece screws on easily, it also comes with a cleaning kit, nice case and gloves. While it’s not an expensive instrument, it will get the job done for school band or anyone wanting to learn without spending a fortune. I definitely recommend this trumpet!
