I recently found out that my blood pressure was very high and I needed medication and to start monitoring my pressure regularly. Doctors orders. Easy enough , right? Wrong! I immediately went out and bought the wrong monitors! The first was a $40 cheap unit from a local store and it didn’t wven register what my pressure was. It would only max out at 140 systolic ! My systolic was 212, so that monitor was useless. I tried several different monitors from several different companies. They just didn’t work for me. I went to several different medical supply stores and they were all sold out. Finally I came across this unit. InBody BP170B. This blood pressure monitor does everything I need and then some. As a stand alone monitor it will measure And record the blood pressure readings, the pulse rate, and the date and time for two users… up to 100 times!! And yes, it will measure and record well past my 212/116!!! But wait! There’s More!! A color coded bar on the right side of the display gives you an immediate view of the reading value, green is good, then yellow, orange and red is bad! The arm cuff is spring loaded so with just a light tap it wraps around your arm automatically, then you snug it firmly with the velcro flap. Super easy. After three readings it can display the average of the last three readings, or you can cycle through the readings individually. It will connect via Bluetooth to the app on your phone, if you choose to do so, and download (or upload) all the readings to an easy to read chart. Allowing users to easily view readings for the day, the week or the month! But wait! There’s More!! You can even buy other InBody equipment like a bathroom scale (for example) and automatically record Those readings too. Giving you a more complete picture of your health. My doctor was impressed!
So, after days of searching and buying and returning the wrong equipment, I finally found this baby… the InBody blood pressure monitor BP170B. I very highly recommend this product for everyone who wants an accurate, high range monitor, for one or two users. And the app is free!

After weeks of high blood pressure ratings I went to the doctor and had my blood pressure professionally checked and it was normal. The InBody was high by 20, both Systolic and Diastolic. The arm cuff is also too small for a male with semi muscular arms. Because its too small its difficult to get the wrap correctly using one hand because it spins as you try to velcro it closed.

I wanted this to work. I was testing myself everyday. Constantly over 145 over 95. Concerned, I made an appointment with my doctor. They took my blood pressure. It was 120 over 72. I told the doctor my concerns and brought the machine in from my car. I used the machine and again it was 152 over 102. The doctor tested me again, I was 122 over 70. The doctor told me not to use that machine again.

The unit measure BP when the pulse rate is low, down to 30 pulses per minute. All other products gave me errors after a full measuring cycle.
Does not apply high pressure far beyond the required.
It seems the unit monitors the blood flow’s sound, and not only the sound of the pulse.
A beeping sound lets me know when the machine detects the blood flow, and i can follow its processing algorithm.
I get excellent good repeatable numbers.

My doctor recently told me to get a blood pressure cuff and I chose this one. I have a wrist type cuff and while it seems to work ok, my doctor recommended a sleeve instead of a wrist monitor. This one seems to be very accurate and I like it, but it simply does not fit my arm very well (it works perfectly for my wife, though).
This monitor works very quickly and it comes up with an accurate reading in short order. The display is easy to read and understand and it stores data for two people at one time so two people can monitor and track their readings. So far, so good.
When I did my first reading, the numbers were so far off the normal chart that I already knew there was a problem. The numbers were so bad that I would be hospitalized immediately if they were in fact true. I finally realized that the cuff did not fit me properly. I am not a huge guy but I am a little bigger than average so I have a large arm. The cuff just barely fits if I tighten it enough to where it says to do so, and then it’s uncomfortable even before inflation. It fits my wife much better, though, and it gave her a very believable reading that is in line with most of the readings she gets in the doctor’s office.
I went to the InBody website, hoping to find a larger cuff that I could add on and it does not appear that they have one. This is very unfortunate for me, as it means I have to seek out another device even though this one works properly.
In spite of this seeming to be a fine monitor, it is unusable to me because the cuff just is a little to small to be workable. The unavailability of a larger cuff makes this a device I simply will never use. On the flip side, my wife now as a very good solution and she can use this device without issue. It is easy to read and it seems to be quite accurate.
